starystarynite:I know it's quite tough to get accepted as PV in Nan Hua and even if you do, there is balloting for PVs too. I don't have figures though, my info are all anecdotal.Hi parents,
my son is born in 2007. i am planning to shift to clementi and within 1km to nan hua. i have some questions as follow:
1. when does the PV registration start for nan hua?
2. What is the PV acceptance rate?
3. What is the P2B balloting acceptance rate?
just trying to access the risk as clementi does not have much alternative if i dun get into the school n P2B. only qifa.
any comments will be good. thanks

Does this apply to other schools ? Will all schools get a similar list with students who make it to 2nd round but never get into GEP ?[/quote]If your child make it to 2nd round, you will definitely know cos you will receive notification to go for the 2nd round test. After the 2nd round test, MOE will notify via the schools those who make it to GEP. Thereafter, MOE will finally give a list of those students who qualify for twinning program to the school. That's what I understand. As far as I know, only Nan Hua and Nanyang has this twinning program.
I believe the school only receive a list of names from MOE to be offered the twinning program.wwcookie:

Does it mean MOE publish the GEP second run result to school? -

Actually twinning class is made up of students selected by MOE based on their round 2 GEP test results, ie, not all students who go through to round 2 will be selected. These students are placed together with the GEP classes where they take GEP Chinese, Social Studies and all other non-examinable subjects together with the GEPpers. They are only separated from the GEPpers for Maths, English and Science lessons. Their class size is small - max 25, and they benefit from the teaching pedagogy of the GEP curriculum. -

I think there is SA2 for P2 and the pupils will be streamed based on this SA2 results.Hi, all the parents here.
My daughter is in NH p1 now and will go to p2 next year.
I know there will be streaming in p3 according to p2 result. I just wonder:
What is the p2 result depends on?
There isn't any formal exams in p2, right? Is it only based on routine assessments of p2?
Is there a formal exam at the end of p2 for steaming?
Thanks a lot! -

Yes, the principal has said this 2 years ago too as a lot of parents complain about the heavy project work of Social Studies..wwcookie:

There may be some changes in the twinning class next year, According to NH principal, twinning class may not be doing the same Social studies as GEP. This is yet to be confirm -

Hi, i'm new to Nan Hua, may i know how many good classes in Nan Hua in each level ? Do they go by class alphabet ? e.g. P4A is the best class ? Is it must be band 1 then can go best class ?
There are 2 best mainstream classes from P3 onwards. The top 80 students from each level based on their overall result for the previous year will be selected for these classes. The rest of the classes will be mixed ability. -

Yes nanhua exam papers are easiest compared to the other popular primary schools EXCEPT for their Chinese paper which is the MOST DIFFICULT of all the primary schools.mdqs:
I think NanHua's standard in Chinese is high. Band 2 does not mean he is really weak compared with stduents in other school.
But all my friends think nanhua's exam papers are easiest compared to other good primary schools. Then nanyang is the second easiest. -

Anypone knows what is the criterial to the twinning class? Pass the GEP round 1 or the SA2 result?
MOE will select the students based on how they do in GEP round 2 - may or may not be selected for twinning class even if your kid pass GEP round 1.
