RE: online learning
Hi just want to share image on my online lesson with my Sec 1 student. I can mark their chinese compo on screen and they can do correction on the screen too. I can also share short video on chinese 成语故事and ask them questions after they watched the video. It's better than they having no tuition during CB..unless parents can guide them in study.

RE: Comparing Chinese Enrichment (Primary/Preschool)
Hi after years of being tutor I recently open classes to teach Chinese to children. Reason is I saw the kids struggling with reading as they can’t recognise the chinese characters. So i came up games with flashcards, story telling and it worked! One of my psle student passed their prelim and more than 10 marks leap… he used to doze off during lessons, later his interest in his Chinese grew… To cultivate interest is the key to motivation. In case any kids interested can join my class in balestier rd. If I have at least 3 students I can give enrichment chinese lessons during school holidays. My motto is to be patient and encourage the students…never use harsh speech…to associate subjects with joy.

RE: All About Working With Children Who Are Weak Academically
Hi kids who are weak in study may have problems in getting concepts right. It’s important to explain concepts using real life examples or explain reasons and give examples during teaching. Eg for science and find objects at home to do experiments, for Chinese need to explain how the chinese characters come about or show them TV programmes on the subjects or education videos. Bring them to library and to cultivate reading time. Once their concepts are right they will move forward faster.

RE: can anyone suggest the fastest way to brush-up science
The reason kids can’t pass the MCQ is they hard to visualise the questions in a real situation. They might be confused by the questions. Never rush through the questions…if possible use the things around in the house to set up simple experiments to show the effects of the experiments. Once they get the concepts right they will be able to choose the correct MCQ answers

RE: How to help my kids to develop a good hobby ?
What is a good hobby? What do we like to introduce to our kids? To be more generous, patient, or focus or caring?
Eg. If caring is the quality we focus can bring kids to volunteer together as a family to care for others.
To cultivate patience, drawing or artwork can cultivate both patience and creativity.
