• RE: Subject Combination in JC

hi i’m currently a j1 that finished my promos and I have to decide whether i should drop maths or chem to H1 Level!!! I’m currently taking BCME and this are my grades from my promos(top) and also for mid years just in case >< (at the bottom)

H2 Biology : C
H2 Chemistry: C
H2 Econs: D
H2 Maths: S

H2 Biology: D
H2 Chemistry: U
H2 Econs: C
H2 Maths: S

I’m unsure of which subject to drop to H1 level… I’m not considering Biology and Econs because although they are pretty content heavy I like it + they are my stronger subjects and I feel like I can understand them better

I’m intending on taking social sciences courses in university some of the courses i’m interested in would be Sociology, Communication Studies, Linguistics, Economics and maybe Life Sciences (which would need H2 Maths but this is not on the top of my considerations)

Based on my results this year, I would feel that H1 Maths would be the way out… but for my Secondary School days i took A Maths and my A Maths results wasn’t as bad??? but for H2 Maths this year I really did quite badly I feel like partially it’s also because I didn’t work as hard for it as compared to for other subjects…

I just want to know is it okay to take H1 Maths and is it better for me to take H1 Maths with my current results?? like would it affect university choices or would I still not be able to do well despite taking H1 Maths?? or is H2 Chemistry really hard and I should drop it instead of dropping my maths?

• RE: O-Level Additional Math

Hi could I please get some help for this questions?

1.If the LCM of p, 30 and 42 is equal to the LCM of 30 and 42, describe clearly what kind of number p must be.

2.The variable k is related to the variable m by the equation k = 3(m + 1)^2+ 1. Explain why k is always positive regardless of the value of m.
can someone share how much to give for pocket money ?

Hi gtayc! I'm a J1 student (J2 next year) who's surviving on just $2.00 per day for 1 meal during lunch (rice + 2 vegetable + 1 fish/meat). The more expensive stalls such as the Western one sells theirs at an average of $3.50. The drinks are reasonably priced as well ranging from $1.00 - $2.50.

Though if your son/daughter dines at the hawker centre opposite College, it would be advisable to give around $5.00 because the food there is selling at prices approximately $3.00 - $5.00.

May I know how many stall in the school? Is it most of the stall around $2? If I give 3 is it enough?
There is about 9 stalls(1 snack stall 1 fruit/juice stall). There is also a cafe. Most of the stall is around 2 dollars except for maybe the Western one. There is going to be a break as well (probably) so if he/she is going to eat for break as well then maybe he/she will need about 5 dollars at least

Hmm..When I was in P1 I was given 1.80 everyday should be enough I guess 0.80 for noodles a small bowl one and maybe a packet of drink for 0.50 still can save 50 cents 🙂 Maybe can buy bigger bowl of noodles or rice which cost maybe about 1.00

They juz allocate randomly.Based on what the teacher say, should be able to get our lockers by next week. And I totally agree, the bag is so heavy.

Wonder do u need to pay for the lockers ( shd be, right?), does the sch subsidise for it ?
if yes, how much is it for a yr ?
It is free of charge based on what I heard from the teachers.
