Hi canvas, do you own a breadmaker or are you planning to knead by hand? Just google, there are lots of bread blogs with good instructions. Alternatively, there are a number of baking books at Popular and Kino.
I am still thinking if I should get a bread maker especially because I own air fryer/ steamer/ waffle maker/ pancake maker etc etc...and I hardly use them! But I use my oven very frequently though. I am actually hoping to get some non-knead bread recipes to try out. I know most people use their bm to knead before baking them in oven. What's your opinion about this? Is it really better to use a bm? Appreciate feedbacks! :rahrah: -
BMs make breadmaking very convenient. You just put in all the ingredients, press start, and you'll have a loaf of bread in about 3 hours. As you use your oven a lot, you'll prob prefer to just get something to help you with the kneading. Which the BM can do, or if you have a mixer with a dough hook, that'll do as well. Actually a mixer is more useful bec you can use it to make cakes, make meringues...
I haven't tried no-knead breads before but I googled and found this recipe which seems to make really nice-looking no knead bread. http://www.simplysogood.com/2013/03/artisan-no-knead-bread.html -

Thanks so much!
I have a regular Kenwood mixer and it does come with a strange looking metal hook (never knew what it was for!). Lol. Time to start searching for good deals for BM too. Will post pictures here when I start making bread. Have just researched on the tangzhong method and it feels fun already. :xedfingers:

Play with your mixer's dough hook first. No need for a BM.jtoh:

Thanks jtoh! I only have a question left for now…when the recipe calls for milk powder, which brand do you home bakers use?
-
I had that same question too. You can get milk powder from phoon huat or just any from the supermarkets. The recipes use only a tablespoon or so, so it really doesn’t matter the brand.

:thankyou:

Hi, anyone interested to buy a Kukeri bread machine pls PM me, great if you just like to buy one to try before commoitting to a better model.

I highly recommend a BM :). It's easy and convenient to use. Just pour all the ingredients in the pan and after 3 - 3.5 hours, you will get a fresh loaf of bread.
I'm using kenwood. -
I’ve been trying to make 100% wholemeal bread with no sugar on my Kenwood BM450.
However, everytime it comes out to be heavy. The bread inside itself is dense but not hard. I followed Kenwood recipe Program 3 but all the time it came out not being fluffy and light.
Anyone has experience with Kenwood to deliver a good light and fluffy 100% wholemeal bread? Can share your experience?
