Yes, registering this year, together with all of you here!

Our baby has grown some small, little wings.
Time fly swiftly! Once upon a time one fine day in 2007 - when they were born in hospital and the nurse turned them upside down and gently beat their backside, they cried or wailed loudly - their first cry of life as they were born into this world. Shortly half a year from now, they’ll wear their uniform and carry a school bag to school. A new chapter of journey beginning in their life soon.

Yes, sembgal - the dates you have provided are correct.

Besides the MOE circular inside the goodie bag(s) that were handed out to parents on Open house Parents Seminar day, I also saw another MOE Press release circular announcing the same dates, that are exactly identical to these dates that you'd supplied here.

let me help you add in the Announcement of results, as well.

          Phase 1 :
          Thurs 4 July 2013
          Fri 5 July 2013

All children registered under this phase will be given places in the schools.

          Phase 2A1 :
          Tue 9 Jul 2013

Announcement of results: by Thursday, 11 Jul 2013

          Phase 2A2 :
          Mon 15 Jul 2013
          Tue 16 Jul 2013

Announcement of results: by Thursday, 18 Jul 2013

          Phase 2B :
          Mon 22 Jul 2013
          Tue 23 Jul 2013

Announcement of results: by Friday, 26 July 2013

          Phase 2C :
          Tue 30 Jul 2013
          Wed 31 Jul 2013
          Thu 1 Aug 2013

Announcement of results: by Thursday, 6 August 2013

          Phase 2C Supplementary :
          Tue 13 Aug 2013
          Wed 14 Aug 2013

Announcement of results: by Tuesday, 20 August 2013

          Phase 3 :
          Thur 29 Aug 2013

Announcement of results: by Friday, 30 August 2013

          Parents,

please photostat 3 sets of documents bring along with you, in case photostated copies are required by the school on that day.

You won't want to hunt for a photostating machine last minute on that day.
Can imagine the scene of P1 registration ... Parents crowding anxiously around those P1 registration officers, asking questions on the spot, etc.
Thx u Phtthp, this really helpful info for when to book our flight back.
For Phase 2c Thursday, 6 August 2013, should the day be Tuesday? or a different date? Thx again.

In 2011 when I registered dd1 under P2B, I prepared a set of photocopied documents for the school along with the original documents for verification.

This yr under Phase 1, dd1's school requested for 1 set of documents too for ds' P1 registration.

Is there a need to prepare 3 sets? Or is it better be safe than sorry? 😄

I have went thru my nail biting experience in 2011, all the best to the parents here who are registering under P2B - Phase 3

                  6 years passed by swiftly!
Still recalled the past days when we celebrated their first one month old birthday, cut their hair for the very first time, when she called you \"mama\" for the first time, called your husband \"papa\" for the first time, when their first milk teeth appeared for the first time, when they first started to crawl on the floor, when they first started to walk with their 2 tiny feet on the floor ...

Maybe parents with child enrolling in school first time feel like this.

Just wish to highlight something - for those in phase 2b, 2c, 2c supp, 3 :-

On the last day for phase 2b registration (ie. 23 July 2013 ) and on the last day for phase 2c registration (ie. 1 August 2013) and likewise on the last day of registn respectively, for 2c supp & phase 3 :-,

Around 3.30 pm on the last day of Regn for each phase, be alert !
For those enrolling in hot, popular schools -
Make sure you find out whether you stand a chance to ballot or not.
If last minute you realize you actually have no chance to even ballot in that school if choice, then quickly withdrAw and rush down in time to your back up school & enrol in time, before 4.30 pm close. Otherwise you’re going to waste your precious chance for that particular phase, and end up you got to wait until the next phase to open, then you can register your child.

Last year what happened was in phase 2c :-
Some parents didn’t realize that they had no chance to even ballot in that school in phase 2c.

Only after phase 2c had already ended, then they realized. By then too late, because phase 2c had already Closed. so they could only wait until the next phase 2c supplementary to open, then can start to enrol their child. But if they had been alert earlier, they can still rush down in time to enrol their child into a backup school, and secure the backup school in phase 2c. So they wasted a very precious opportunity in phase 2c.

Though at times difficult to monitor the situation too becos some parents will wait till the last minute to apply. Even if the parents who are out of the balloting chance know they might not be able to rush down in time to apply at the another school.

UNLESS for popular schools, the parents who
are not staying within 1km, the parents each station at a school, mummy could station at the popular school and daddy with the original documents station at the back-up school. The mummy will monitor the situation, should there be last min changes quickly withdraw and inform daddy to apply at the back-up. This is not fool-proof either becos I think last yr there was a case whereby the parents make a last minute decision to withdraw fr a popular school and apply at another popular school. It was truely last minute that parents who had a chance to ballot couldn’t react.

It is always a risk for parents, who live 1km and beyond, when they apply at popular school fr phase 2B - phase 2C.

                        Dear phttph

This info is really indeed useful to me. Oh dear, means every phase will ends at 3.30pm and who shall I ask if I'm given a chance to ballot? The general officer? S if I've gotten no chance to ballot I will have to rush down to the backup Sch by 4.30pm right? But how cum the back up Sch allows me to register after 3.30pm.. Sorry for such questions, I'm really scratching my head now... Thanks
