Thank you! Will call up school 2 to ask.... In the meantime I can only pray that there are no traffic jams on 1 August.... School 2 is on the online registration system but I thought because I have to watch numbers down at the school, it is much easier for me to just register the traditional way. Another way I thought of is asking my mum to help me withdraw at school 1 while I standby at school 2, but not sure if that is permitted?[/quote]

Hi SAHM_TAN
2nd school: I'm within 1-2KM, SC. Last year no balloting (leftover places) but previously in 2009 and I think 2007 there was balloting for 1-2KM. But given the results of last year's registration I wonder if parents might rush for this one this year since last year even PRs made it in.
Are you in Phase 2C for the 2nd school? This yr there are about 80 schools offering online registration for P2C and P2Cs. If your school is on the list, it will be less stressful for you in terms of travelling time. Here's the list of schools, you have to scroll down the page. http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/
There will be admin paperwork to withdraw from 1st school. So far have not heard about getting the form first then submit later for P1 registration. But you could always call the 2nd school to ask. No harm asking.
The most accurate infor is the data fr the school. MOE website only update at the end of each phase and not per day. But if your 2nd school takes part in online registration then I'm not sure if the school tabulate the online data on a daily basis or on the last day of registration of each phase. You can double-chk with the 2nd school
Hi,
Not sure if your mother can help to withdraw. MOE does have a proxy form to enable parents to appoint someone to register the kid for P1. But not sure if applicable in your situation. -
I would like to ask
Since there is online registration why do parents still want to register at the school?
If say I’ve registered online and then want to withdraw to apply another sch must I go down the school personally? -
Maybe those using statutory declaration prefer to go down to school register the traditional way.

Or want to know the latest figure fr school.
If school not one of the 80 schools participating in the online registration, still need to go down. -
Thanks sahm tan
Other than those reasons?
I found one that is the last date for online reg is 31 jul 430pm
I guess the sch needs to know how many applicants online so on 1 aug will be those who reg at the sch.
So does it mean on last day I can ask the sch how high the chance of balloting is before deciding if I should withdraw and try sch b? -
Hi, would like to find out for parents registering their children in P2B via church and clan route, have you received the recommendation letters by now? Usually how long before the start of the registration will the parents know if they are successful in getting the letters and thus eligible for phase 2B? Ive read from some threads that some clans will only issue out after phase 2a. What about Singapore Buddhist Federation? Do they do that too? If yes, then it will be too risky and may need to reconsider another school..
Hope someone can help me with these questions. TQ :boogie: -

If is a hot, popular school -I would like to ask

Better go down personally. You can get live updates rightaway on the spot, from p1 registration officers.
If you are at home and try to inquire how many vacancies left, whether you stand a chance or not, how many sc or pr apply within 1 km, within 2 km, etc - you may not be able to get thru the phone line (engaged) easily. And if you are physically present there inside the school, you can find out the numbers on the spot readily, and make decision accordingly - to remain in the system or to withdraw ? -

Ahhhhhh, I see what you mean. Thanks for highlighting.
The online registration dates are earlier than the onsite registration date for P2C and P2Cs.
Phase 2C
Online registration
Starting from 9.00 am on 29 July 2013 to 4.30 pm on 31 July 2013.
Onsite registration
Starting from 9.00 am on 30 July 2013 to 4.30pm on 1 Aug 2013.
Phase 2C Supplementary
Online registration
Starting from 9.00 am on 9 August 2013 to 4.30 pm on 13 August 2013.
Onsite registration
Starting from 9.00 am on 13 August 2013 to 4.30 pm on 14 August 2013.
For parents who wish to withdraw fr school A, registered at an earlier phase, and register at school B, it would be prudent to register onsite, after confirming there's no balloting, to minimise risk. It would be a nightmare if after giving up a secured place at an earlier phase and face balloting at phase 2C. -
Hi sherl,
Just found out that the online registration onsite registration dates are different for P2C.
Phase 2C
Online registration date
Starting from 9.00 am on 29 July 2013 to 4.30 pm on 31 July 2013.
Phase 2C
Onsite
Starting from 9.00 am on 30 July 2013 to 4.30 pm on 1 August 2013.
I guess to play safe you will have to be at the 2nd school to chk for infor before deciding to withdraw fr 1st schoo or stay put.
All the best
