As long as the address is shown in you and your spouse's NRICs.

My targeted schools (GEP school or SAP school - under P2A) are very far from my house, estimated about 4 hrs traveling time a day school bus – merry go round)!

If I change it to a neighborhood school (under P2C)? There is also a risk, don't know will end up to which school (balloting)?

Do I need to try my luck?
Oh! this is a great challenge for us! :frustrated:

CHOICE of GEP or SAP school in P2A???
          .

Hoo1688 may have 2 schools in mind, both under 2a.
One could be Gep school (her own alma mater), the other could be her spouse alma mater, a sap school. So she has a choice. Or it can be same school that is both Gep cum sap. Example: nanyang primary, nan Hua or Tao nan.

Seriously, 2 hrs per trip is far too tiring for a k2 kid starting p1.
The most is 45 minutes school bus traveling time, per trip. Not 2 hrs.
We adults can't take 2 hrs per trip v tiring, let alone a young p1 kid.

For the sake of your child, and going to last for next 6 years, not forgetting she has cca next time, is best to shift nearer to the gep / sap school. Consider rent out your current place, then re-rent another house nearer to school. You still have remaining 6 months to hunt for a house (from now till jan 2014), to Hunt for house rental. Perhaps rent one year first.

During this initial one year rental -
if you think you wish to continue to rent until yr daughter complete psle, then continue to rent.

But if you think you need to go back to yr old house - then try to seek transfer to another school nearby yr house, during this one year time frame.
At least you got 1 year time to think through / evaluate.

normally parents caught in dilemma can try rental one year first, then see how later on. Take one step at a time. Because if give up 2a (esp. if is a popular school) and head straight for balloting at Phase 2C - is highly risky, especially if the 2C school involve intense balloting competition.

            Blue Pearl :
I was also like you all , undecided but after some thoughts, i think it is best to have school near your house rather than having a child to travel long distance. Not worth it. If the child is deprived of sleep, what can the child study.

I think the most important thing we should all do is to pray that our children get good teachers and friends who can lead them in the right direction so that they would be motivated to go to school.

No point it is the best school but gets a lousy teacher. I have friends in top schools but the teachers are not committed.

            Thank you.

Think very carefully. Get updated about your alma maters if haven't. Does the school fit your child? Distance can be overcome, but after 16 July reclaim your legacies or lose it forever. If i were you, i will move house - sell present loc n buy there or rent out present n rent there.

                    Parents,

Start preparing all documents to be ready now. Put them into a file.
On that day of registration, check and double check that all documents required are intact. Grab file and leave the house.

What important documents to bring ?
