Why are there so many advertisements in KSP…
Not referring to those "official" ones… but those that pop up in the middle of threads…
Like in topics on sharing tips/info on online shopping, holiday camps etc…
Then sellers/providers will come in promote their wares… -

We do not permit sellers to explicitly promote their services/wares in threads outside of the Buy & Sell Forums, although they are allowed to join in discussions and help clarify issues in other parts of the Forum.

Long ago, I yakked alot in KSP, contributed many yakking posts. Once hit a certain number, nick will be blue.
I didn't yak for the sake of attaining a blue nick. I was having a lot of fun then with my group of kakis.
The rules changed and now I don't think members who posted a certain number of posts will have the colour changed to blue. -
Why still need to have morning sickness during pregnancy?
Who was the smart alec who coined the term morning sickness?
Why can't modern technology create wombs or something similar for men to gestate babies too?
Yours truly just finished going thru this in the morning, noon and night    :faint:  -

Congrats! and :hugs:Why still need to have morning sickness during pregnancy?
Who was the smart alec who coined the term morning sickness?
By a guy whose sleep was disturbed by his wife rushing to the toilet in the morning, after which he fled to office and was blissfully unaware of his wife's struggles

Because they would need 10 months of bedrest and loads of TLC and we would have to withstand a life time of hearing them recount their achievement over and over again.

I can relate to it, I lost about 3 kgs during my firts pregnancy trimester. And I was worried, and sick of morning sickness ( actually it was all day and night, just worse in the morning). I read a book from nlb ( since it was the pre google era) and that helped me cope better. Knowing the vast changes our bodies under go, the process of birth from inception to delivery is nothing short of miracle even scientifically. It gave me a new respect for my own body.
There is a purpose for morning , and while it may need medical intervention in extreme cases, most often is best left alone.
Read up to see some remedies - what works for you. One thing would be to vary food, avoid food triggers , ensuring your stomach doesnt remain empty ( except when it decides to empty itself , lol!)
Personally, it took me a while to pin pont them since rice and noodles were my basic triggers. I lived on bananas and fruit juice for some weeks. ( no wonder my kids are like monkeys :rotflmao: ) . Milk was a big no no thru out my pregnancy.
some stuff i found on the net. And yes remember thalidomide tragedy?
Evolutionary survival adaptation - some experts suggest that morning sickness may be an evolutionary adaptation which protects pregnant mothers and their babies from food poisoning - an evolved trait that protects the fetus against toxins ingested by the mother. If the woman with morning sickness does not feel like eating foods which may be potentially contaminated, such as poultry, eggs or meat, and prefers foods with a low contamination risk, such as rice, bread and crackers, the survival chances for her and her child are improved.
Some scientists have found a good correlation between toxin concentrations in foods, and the tastes and odors that cause revulsion.
Adult humans have defenses against plant toxins, including a wide range of detoxification enzymes produced by the liver and the surface of tissues of various other organs. In the developing baby these defenses are not yet fully developed, and even relatively small amounts of toxins could be harmful.
The developing baby's vulnerability to toxins peaks at about three months, more or less the time of the peak of susceptibility to morning sickness (after which symptoms tend to go down).
As a woman's immune systems are suppressed during pregnancy (probably so that her body does not reject the baby), this evolutionary survival adaptation is also seen as helping the mother. -
Thanx for the comfort ladies (guys?). MS passed already, just wondering why can't guys also join in the pregnancy 'fun'
