Yes, the school will let you know on the spot which distance category you are in.

You should use the permanent address of the school.

For phase 2a1, it says that it is for kids whose parents are members of the school management committee, can I check if the administrative management is also considered the school committee ??

If I am not wrong, the child should fall under P2A2. Best to confirm with the school.

Hi - You can call the school to verify whether you are within the 1KM. When you register, you would use teh school old address although it had shifted to a holding school.

would like to know some sch under p2B only ballot for 1-2km. for those >2km who also done PV, does it mean they were actually wasting their PV effort as no ballot will be given at all under 2b?

If balloting is for 1-2km, those living >2km will not be able to register under P2B. Whether is it a total waste of effort will depend on the school. My fren PVed for a popular neighbourhood school, he was unsuccessful in the ballot. After phase 2C was over, a few wks later he rec'd call that there was a place for him. The vacancy could arise bec of another P1 kid transfer out or the kid applied LOA. This school is rather popular but he managed to get the vacancy so I imagined he had pirority over other non-PV parents bah who also placed their names on the waiting list.

But in another school I know parents who were not successful in P2B, they were asked to put their names on the waiting list after P2C. For this case I'm not sure if the pirority is given to the queue on the waiting list or parents who PV.

Best to check with the school if you will have pirority in the waiting list if you are not successful in P2B

It will be great if the school informs the parents if it is only ballot for 1-2km based on past years record. Then it will be up to the parent to decide if want to register as PV. If not, it might lead to dispute later on .

Usually the school will let parents sign that they know PV do not guarantee them a place in P2B. The P will also emphasis this point and it's up to the parents to decide.

I think some schools that experience balloting in P2B do try to agar and not take in too many PVs but sometimes still have balloting.

I know of 1 popular school the P will show the stats to the parents breakdown by yr and balloting distance. No one left the room , not even me who was out of the balloting range. Lucky I was not successful in balloting for the PV vacancies LOL

May want to check out the grassroots thread. most think that it is not easy as you need to be active n served at least 1 yr to receive the letter from chairperson. Right? pl share ur views.[/quote]Just to clarify, I am not saying RC approach is easier than PV. I am answering how to volunteer as GRL - easiest way is to join RC. Cos GRLs also include members of CCC, CCMC, etc which is harder to get in.

NCPS phase 1 applicants 148… and the vacancy is 300 . what does that mean ?


phase 2 has chance? NCPS seems to have the most vacancy in SK school… is this always like that?
