Dear parents, would appreciate your advice: I have heard some friends mention that nanyang primary school work is not as vigorous as other school like Tao nan or aitong or st Andrew. Is this true? I would like to enroll my dd to a good school with good values but at the same time, hope she can have a 'childhood'.

As of today, Nanyang primary is the top primary school in Singapore.

The school expect the best - expect pupils to excel, to be an all rounder. Pupils excel in studies, excel in sports ! Yes! the school is always on constant look out for bright talents - in the field of sports, in other cca(s).

If your child had undergone special training during pre-school (n2 to k2) days in competitive swimming, and your child is good in swimming -
you may consider seek transfer into nanyang.

Commitment period is longer for GRL route. To be safe (to get the endorsement letter from PA), you need to commit at least 2 years.

And got to pray hard they don't change the boundary in the next few years.

To double check…
for phase 2A2, there is normally no balloting, rite?
I read on the MOE website that there will be the announcement of results on 18th July.
Do I have to be in school for the results? Do I have to fill in all the forms on that day itself too?

Tips: Choose a school that your child would like to study in, not a school that the parents prefer the child to study in. Your child will thank you in time to come when he/she is older.

Are you going to present all the information to your child, bring him to take a look at the primary schools and let him/her choose?

For my dd1, I didn't ask her, I selected the primary school and she's happy in there. Same for ds, he will follow dd1 into the primary school this yr since the school is co-ed.

I can imagine that for sec school, the child will probably have more say in the choice of sec school.

I totally agreed, we are all none the wiser which school is the one our kids like. Just choose one and move on. Even by visiting all the schools, how can we safely say the it'll be \"the\" school that our kids like down the road. They are still too young to decide/know.
