Hey guys, I had contacted an agency to hire a New Philipino maid, they had given me their numbers & asked me to call myself. Its a bit weird isnt it, plus their fee is about $1600++ all in. Any suggestions??

This is so inconvenient that the agent asked me to call them myself. I'm assuming once I've confirmed a maid with them, if I have problems they may not assist me as well. Bad first impression... Thank god. I'm liaising with another agent. Shelly from HireStrategy. She is really helpful & patient. She has been following up with me regularly. This agency was introduced by a friend.
Some can even let you do skype interview. I interview my Indo maid through Skype. Can see n talk at the same time. -

Interviews also I call myself or use viber. If the helper does not have viber, I talk to the overseas agent direct also through viber. To me its ok so I don hve to make my way down to the office to interview. And I don need to sit there and go through piles of biodatas and in the end nothing.matrix0405:

I remember one time I went to Lucky plaza and walked into 4-5 agencies and sat down and ran through all the biodatas and nothing. Went home more drained..so when I came across this agency and based on my requirements emailed me everything...wah easier for me. But when they asked me to call myself I was puzzled also. haha..but I don mind buying a Pinoy IDD card only $8.50 and personally call from comfort of my home to interview them.
If you go to netmaid.com.sg, you will see alot of biodatas there too and if you find one you like, you can call up the agency that reps them.Very informative! -

Wahh!! $588 is agency fee only isn't?? Bc the rates i mentioned is inclusive of insurance, wp, etc. so I was wondering their fee so expensive yet I have to call myself? Mind sharing the agency info?

Just wanted to check... My current agent used to provide me a maid free after paying his initial service fee n upfrnt loan if i
change maid before 6 months. Now I will hv to pay $300 if maid does nt work out while he transfer her n make extra $ frm her. My Agent say there's no more free maids nowadays. Is that true? -
Yes it is true... The agencies quoted the top up fee range from $400, $688, $700, $800. :yikes: and yet the agency fee is more than $1k for Indo maid :mad:

My philipino maid is asking for transfer, basically her WP is ended in August and we do not have intention to renew her and she don want to go home. For those who looking for transfer maid and fortunately enough your “meet” my maid, please think twice before you decided to engage her.
It is not nice if I tell your her name, well here is some information, 24-26 years old (cannot remember) with 3 children and medium size. In fact she was a transfer maid as I don have choice and cannot wait when I engaged her 2 years back.
