Parents were invited to school today. We had noodles in the school. Mine cost $2.40 and $2.20 for my husband. (different stalls). Sometimes they would like to buy drinks or some fruits, tit bits ?

For me, I gave $30 per week for my elder girl 4 yrs ago. Now for this second daughter I give $40 a week to make sure she has enough money for proper meal. Not sure if it is too much.

better not let my kids read this thread....all these aunties and uncles are so generous...why daddy so kiam one......only $10 per week, even when they go lunch with church mates (not every week though) - no extra $$ from me...they hardly buy anything from school except the necessary stationery ....

they pack snacks from home for recess. occasional lunches in school will come that pocket money ....they save most of the money

I’m giving $100 a month for my sec1 DS. But I deduct $10 upfront for savings and he has to pay 10% tithes to church. So basically he has $80 and ezlink I top up for him.

huh u sure $2 a day is enough?? sec pupils go 2 periods for break and lunch everyday during curriculum, not forgetting staying back for CCA, projects, skit practices, etc.

my dd gets $4 a day, fair enough?

              Hi,

I have a Sec 1 dd this year and I would like to have a gauge of what is the amount of allowance you are giving your kids.

Her transist link card will be top up by us so basically her allowance is for her break and lunch money.

Is $30 for 7 days enough? to take into consideration that on sat evening she might want to eat out with her church friends after service.

              Thanks for sharing!
Enough, I get 35 dollars a week though, if there are no special occasions.

Looks like i kena ketok by my DS (Sec 1).

He gets $5 per day (excluding ez link card, stationery), $2 for every tuition session (he has tuition in eng, math and science).
That means he gets $31 per week.
                He saves most of it!

Then my DD who is in P5 i have to give her $5 per day cos she agreed to do higher chinese, also $2 for every tuition session.

That’s why now i have to pack food to work for lunch.

If the allowance is given weekly, does your kid bring the full or balance of allowance everyday? Or you expect her to split accordingly …say $5 each day or put the full $30 or whatever in her pocket? Any risk of losing the money?

My daughter (sec 4) gets S$20 a week. Might do the same for my son.
