From what my friends told me, it is paper.
They will show the name of the child before they put into the ballot box to make sure all names went in.

Then that time was SC get 2 ballot chance while PR get 1 ballot chance, so they show 2 slips for SC being dropped into ballot box.

blesswife, i can imagine the anxiety ! my backup plan is brand new sch Alexandra. they roll out the number 1 by 1 like singapore pool toto is it? 🙂

              Patlsy79,

Yes it really looks like we are waiting for TOTO Million dollar draw !
In the room, they even set up video cam to take down the whole process (as required by MOE) & a white board with all the kids name. Once they rolled out the kids number ball, one staff will make a notation beside the kids name that he was balloted in.

I would rather we strike this than to win a TOTO. Money cannot even buy us a vacancy right ha ha.....

I keep telling our son \"you see, it's so hard to be a parents nowadays\"

Yesterday, I asked him did he see many aunties & uncles doing the registrations for P1?

He said \" Oh Yes ! no wonder I saw many parents with their children. I even went to say hello to a small boy.\" 🙂

Roll a ball? sounds like playing bingo... Don't think I can take this kind of stress. :siam:

is that mean all spore/PR in phase 2B will get in before phase 2C can have chance? or there is a quota on how many can get in phase 2B.. if all PR can get in in phase 2B.. then sporean in phase 2C no chance..

                  Patlsy79,

Don’t listen to the naysayers here. You are a Methodist. March right in during 2C and lay claim to your heritage. And pray hard. If God is with you, it doesn’t matter whether there are only 20 or 10 or 5 vacancies left.

The balance after phase 2A will be allocated 50% to Phase 2B and 50% to Phase 2C.

Don't think now the schools are still using papers. They have the number balls something like TOTO. Before the balloting starts, the admin manager will show all parents the balls bearing the different numbers (if 50 applicants then will have 50 number balls starting from 1 to 50) via the projector so that those sitting at the far end can get to see.

Very much like the TOTO draw. The principal will rotate the balls (without seeing) and after a few turn, 1 ball will drop out and the winner is out 🙂
Principal will read out the number then followed by one staff reading the child's name & update the white board according.

                        Oops, so she is right??

A PR know more about our schooling system than me...
I better avoid eye contact with her during the next lesson.

So by defination -Priority for SC over PR is for that \"particular phase only\".
Phase 2B and Phase 2C is considered different phase?
I still thought Phase 2 as a whole is considered one big phase and phase 2B and phase 2C is a subset of phase 2.
Isnt that better, the whole phase 2 let citizens get in first before PR?
                        😢
                        Phase 2 is split into 2A1, 2A2, 2B, 2C, & 2CS.

Priority for SC vs PR comes in place when there's a need to ballot.

Is the sch that you're trying a popular sch? If popular & based on historical results, 2B needs to ballot for SCs, then she wouldn't stand a chance as priority wld go to SCs. Likewise, if she tries in 2C after failing in 2B, & 2C also needs to ballot for SCs, again she wouldn't stand a chance.

I supposed Phase 2 is split up for number of reasons, 1 of which I could think of is additional funding as not all schs are fully funded by govt, so alumni members hv priority over old boys/girls who didn't join alumni as one has to pay to join alumni. Some schs hv strong financial support from clans/churches, so the need for 2B.
