I can enlighten you on MGS, as I registered my DD. Out of the 57 that registered, only 41 SG children were <1km.kitab:
Just thinking aloud here. Looking at the P2B Schools Conducting Balloting, I've noticed the following comments for the following schools,
\"The school has places for only SC children residing within 1km of the school. No balloting will be conducted.\"
The schools being, ACSJ (47/73), ACSP (24/31), Hong Wen (51/72), Kong Hwa (41/46), MGSP (40/57), SCGSP (22/23). ie. Name of school (2B vacancies/No. of children registered 2B).
Apart from Kong Hwa and SCGSP, the number of children registered for the schools mentioned far outnumbers the number of 2B vacancies. I find it interesting that the exact number accepted equals the exact number of SC within 1km. I'm guessing that this is only possible if the applicant (SC/PR) has the exact status of the registration numbers (including breakdown of SC, PR, Distance information) close to the closing of 2B on 23 Jul late afternoon and hence registers accordingly.
Somehow, the numbers seem too \"exact\" imho. Perhaps I'm missing something here.
Just curious. Tks.
I was also wondering aloud to my hubby just this morning.
I asked him how is it that there are 41 places and 46 registered for kh... and all sc gets in.... umean so coincidental.... 41 sc and 5 pr applied? that's why wanted to find out the breakdown but no one was able to help. same for the other schools... i also wondered. hope someone can enlighten us.
The other 16 were a mix of 1-2 & more than 2km or PR/foreigner.
There was no balloting as 2 of the 41 children were twins, which count as 1 applicant, so its 40 applicants to 40 places, though there are 41 children.
The twin will hold the same balloting number. If their num is being picked, 2 of them will auto go in to the choice of school which indirectly means that 2 seats are taken up. I guess the principal is nice to take in all. -
Good luck to all phase 2B parents going for balloting today.
Blessings shall be upon you. Do share ur good news here.
For those who ballot out, please don’t be dishearten.
This is MOE policy and its beyond our control..
Look forward to phase 2C with courage!

Use the School Query (Find Buildings near a School) which marks the homes around the particular school in red as within 1km and blue as 1-2km. I think you clicked on the first option which finds schools around your home instead.offtooz:
Thanks stonston & tankee. Big relief as the distance to the school shown on google is 2.1 km & one map is 1.9km !
Hi! How to find out the actual distance from my home to the school of my choice? OneMap only states which schs are within 1km and which are within 1-2km. Please advise. TIA!
For actual distance, go to TOOLS> MEASURE. But schools do not accept this method of measurement. They use the School Query method. -
Distance still plays an impt role when comes to balloting. no matter if you are active community leader/clan that has multiple school to choose from, it all boils down to distance. eg : you stays within 2km but balloting only for SC within 1km,do you stand a chance?
Good luck to all who is balloting today. -

Hi cherrygal, thanks! Was trying to confirm if Radin Mas Pri is within 1-2km of my place. It is... but i just called up the sch to ask what the chances of balloting for 1-2km at phase 2C is and the person told me usually balloting will be for within 1kmUse the School Query (Find Buildings near a School) which marks the homes around the particular school in red as within 1km and blue as 1-2km. I think you clicked on the first option which finds schools around your home instead.

Hi, can I check, if at 2c stage there are say 21 applicants for 20 places, all singletons, will school have to conduct balloting, or is it school’s discretion to accept all 21 even though it would bust the max no. of pupils they can accept?
Coz i understand that for cases like mgs’ twins at 2b they may just take out one vacancy at 2c and give to te extra 2b kid right? Instead of giving one extra seat? -
anyone knows about Maha Bodhi’s balloting situation? How many people >2km balloting for place?
-
Hi, I have a question. I understand that Fairfield Methodist Pri has only 1 space to be balloted today with 10 child fighting for it. I also understand that one friend child’s no was not rolled out during the balloting, so I’m curious why she told me her son managed to be enrolled but refused to tel me the reason. Anyone knows any possible reason?

Why are more and more student care closing down?
Am looking for student care for my son for next year. Called up a few student care in sengkang and a few said they are ceasing operations for student care next year.
One of the student care said is due to more primary schools going to one session and they have activities/enrichment classes after school.
Is that true? Can current mummies advise?
If that’s the case, does it mean they can stay in school till we fetch them at 6pm?
Otherwise, where can the students go after school since everyday their finish timing is different and if I find a student care that requires to take a school bus then school bus won’t be able to send my son to the student care if he finish school at different timing at certain days of the week.
I really need advises from parents whose kids are now in Primary school and they are going to a non in-house student care.
