Hi, my child is in PVPS. To be honest, my child form teacher is really good. But no all teachers!!!! This school set a very high standard, I begin to doubt what Mr Chua's said during the open house. My child have been busy with lot of homework, spelling and chinese spelling. All Singapore kids no childhood.

So is this good or bad? I think spelling and chinese spelling is a norm for every school. Guess some parents will also complain if there is no spelling given. Personally find that the amount of homework given is still acceptable. The real challenge will come in Pri 3. Pri 1 & 2 are 'honeymoon' periods where they learn the foundation and apply it later.

Those are teachers.. Mr Thomas Low and Mrs Annie Koh if I'm not mistaken. Mr Low is the ICT head.. crazy fella I tell u (in a good way). Kids find him fun.. and that's what makes learning interesting. -

Perhaps you can share which class your child is in. My daughter is in 1 Curie. So far, her homework is manageable. Sometimes for 3 days in a row no homework. Spelling, etc is quite normal. And the words are quite reasonable I feel.
Mr Chua did say that if we feel that the homework is a lot, we should alert him and I think you should do that. From my past experiences, I find that he listens. -
Hahahah thanks cyaranocrash ! Teachers wearing lab coats and conducting science lessons using vegetable oil and dish soap, that’s cool ! I love his wigs , saw him taking it down during the rest session . He’s actually bald.

Hi parents, my son is in 1 Da vinci I fnd his home work volume quite ok having English spelling and Chinese听写 once a week each is normal in most school. He manage to finish his work on time in class so he doesn't need to bring back his work most of the time. I believe reasonable amount of home work is necessary for our kids to build their confident and habit for high primary education. -

My child is in 1 Aristotle. Tuesday, our kids study till Tuesday 4pm, plus homework make them really tired. -
Can i know for classes like Dance and Music that were highlighted during the Open House, are the instructors/teachers outsourced? I find them not being very patient and are poor with managing the kids.
Also, what are the enrichment classes that are currently offered to current students? -

To be fair.. they do not really 'study' till 4pm. Coz for the enrichment programmes, they are mostly experiential learning.. so the kids are having fun.
But I do agree that perhaps the teachers should cut down on the homework on enrichment days.
