After the 11am application at PLMGS

      SC < 1km - 54
      SC 1 - 2 km - 9
      SC > 2km - 2
PRs - 11 (not sure of breakdown)

I believe those who stayed within 1km from PLMGS would have applied today. The admin lady who answered the phone at PLMGS advised that if the number of SC for within 1km hit the 71 quota, it is advisable that those SC staying more than 1km or PR to select a school elsewhere as they won't even get the chance to ballot. That means within 1km for SC needs balloting for PLMGS this year πŸ˜“

:?: Praying for a miracle that can get balloted in if the number of SC <1km will not hit quota of 71. I fall under 1km to 2km. :slapshead:

Sembgal u also within 1 km for PL right?
Really hope that all SC within 1km applied today.
If the next 2 days 7 more within 1 km apply, then see u at the ballot hall on 6 aug 😒
:?: Praying for a miracle that can get balloted in if the number of SC <1km will not hit quota of 71. I fall under 1km to 2km. :slapshead:
      carolkch1308 , are you SC < 1km or SC 1 -2km?

The Minton is a killer for alot of parents who wanted to send their gals to PLMGS this year.

I think 2 years later, with Bartley Residences and Bartley Ridge approaching TOP, it is more difficult to get into this school =(

Paya Lebar MGS getting popular -

because her academic standard has improved, plus an affliated Secondary school.

With all the HDB flats & Condos completing in SK, the fight for NCPS would be even worse in the near future.

SK & PG too over populated with young couples with kids, & the housing construction is still on-going, so the demand for generally good school in this 2 areas would just get more & more overwhelming.

Maybe it’s time I shift out of this densely populated neighbourhood with kids going childcare/primary schools.

Guess it is the pain from being unsuccessful in the volunteer phase, all that time wasted and no guts to try again, cos even lower chance.

Can empathise what you have gone through, at least we as parents have done all our best we can within our means and the rest are not within our control. At least you have secured a place in this phase. This is only the beginning of the child's formal academic education, the success of the child does not solely depends on which primary he/she attended, I am sure your child will still shine wherever he/she is studying.

Have a well deserved sleep tonight
