It means phase will be purely for foreigners and first cum first basis ?
All SCs/PRs are supposed to get places before Phase 3 starts. However, some of them prefer not to do so. Hence, SCs/PRs are still allowed to register in Phase 3. In the event there are SCs/PRs applying in Phase 3, they have priority over foreigners.
Quote from MOE website:
Balloting will be conducted in Phase 3 if the number of applications exceeds the number of places available at the end of Phase 3 registration. Balloting will be conducted one day after phase 3 registration.
After the balloting is completed, the parents of children who have not been able to obtain a place at their school of choice can approach another school with remaining vacancies to register on a first-come-first-served basis.
So, no, registration in Phase 3 is not on a first-come-first-served basis. -
I tried PV but was unsuccessful. Moved near a school of choice to be within 1 km/walking distance. Now got balloted out. The remaining schools are all not within 1km and require transport. And I am sure I am not the only one.
Dear MOE, why is registration for P1 so stressful? Why not just expand and increase the vacancies for the more popular schools, rather than have so many phases and worse balloting that is determined by chance? P1 should be an exciting new phase for the parents and child, yet for some of us, we start out feeling totally demoralized and defeated when we are balloted out of the school after doing what we could possible do. The current system leaves much to be desired. All schools are equally good schools? Not quite believable yet. Have more children? Hmm…at least not for now. -
Mummy EA:
Just go for TKPS at P2Cs. Even if you are balloted out, Macpherson will likely still have enough places left after P2Cs.Hi
could anyone give me some advice? A bit lost now.
I was unsuccessful in P2c in the only school within 1km. My 2nd choice is filled up. 3rd choice (Tkps) left with 17 vacancies n also I'm 1-2km distance. My only other choice left is Macpherson Pri (100+ vacancies). Should I try to apply for tkps though I may face balloting, or worse no balloting at all?
What happens if fail in securing a place in p2cs & the remaining schools within 2km are filled up? Means I have no choice but to choose sch in other area? -

I have been crying whole day yesterday until my eyes are swollen. :gloomy: Not idea why but the tears just keep dropping. Didn't know it will have such a great effect on me. Maybe cos its my daughter's bday today and I felt bad that I couldn't let her enter the school that she wants. Now I really have no idea where to register her in 2CS as my other choices are either filled up or only left with few places. :faint:My heart goes out to those, who failed to get balloted into their phase 2c school.
For phase 2c supp -
try to avoid balloting.
Enter a school that has vacancies, < 1 km from yr house. Then fill up transfer form, to more than 1 school, that you like. Try to help yr child do well for p1, do not give up hope. Continue to pray. Cry if you
Must, if tears can help you relief your sadness, disappointment, grief. Is better to let go yr emotion, than bottled up all inside you, ESP. Fathers. -
Celynn:

Be strong mum, don't let your daughter feels that she will be studying in an unwanted school. This may adversely affects her learning. After all, this is the start of a journey of many years she is embarking...

Perhaps go through the list of remaining schools and choose based on convenience or perhaps other criteria such the school environment.
Meanwhile do waitlist at the school of original choice.
Take care, be strong... -

Oh, don't be sad. Cheer up. there's always something better out there waiting for you. I hope your daughter gets a school she is happy in. I remember when i was not successful for MBS (21 for 17 seats), i was so upset. But my friends told me \"when one door closes, another opens\". And yesterday, i was balloted in (46 for 12 seats)! You never know what's gonna happen. Just submit your waiting list form to your choice school. Good luck!!

I went to CCK Primary School to request to be put on waitlist but the lady said they do not have waitlist because usually no one will withdraw from their school. I said maybe someone will study halfway into the year and for some reason need to withdraw to go to another school? But she refused and insisted that no one will withdraw from their school. I left disappointed.

Hi, my girl didn’t get in to ChongFu Pri School. I am contemplating to send her to Xishan or Ahmad Ibrahim.
May I know which school better?
