Before hubs left, he told DD that her school can burn the prelim oral scores for all he cares. There is little point in having prelims to supposedly prepare for the real thing when there are no scores.. no feedback.. no nothing.. prior to the actual exams.

Buds, what do you mean by no scores? :?

So for the parents and kids, we are virtually in the dark as to how our children's oral kungfu was prior to the oral exams last week.

I still try to keep chanting to myself.. all schools are good schools.. all schools are good schools.. šŸ˜ž

        No other meaning, babe.

No scores means no scores la, ehmm as in the school normally has scores for every component for EL right? So out of the 30 (total marks), what did DD get.. and what are the areas for her to improve on in greater detail (eg. pronunciation.. or lack of eye contact.. too fidgety.. etc)

        We didn't get anything.

The kids didn't know how they fared or how they are or can do better. 🤷
Ahhh...different school different practice! How to have all school are good schools when there is no standard to adhere to? DS' school has never given back scores or feedback on oral from P1-5, except for this year! I was just telling DH that at least this year, we know what DS did right or wrong during prelim oral.

          ah like that also can?

We were told the prelim oral results with remarks.
          That's why..

Now you understand why I always have to keep chanting the Education Minister's mantra? I am on the school's side all this time but they keep disappointing me. Also DD share fate like me mebbe.. no smooth life.. always outta luck.

DD2 in same school with super teachers. :please:

Need help on recommendations for good PSLE science assessment books, especially for open-ended questions. Went to Popular but dun know which to choose cos so many choices. Or is it too late to buy them now?

I resolved this respect issue many years ago by telling my children : u can pack up n go live with your teacher. šŸ˜‰

I like this quote. Mind if I borrow it ?

I thought it is always lesson as usual for the p1 to p5 students during the psle exam days. It is only the psle marking days that all students dont need to go to school.

If you're looking for topic by topic, I came across one which I thought it's quite good because it comes with teacher's tips and guide for open ended questions - By Casco Science Teacher's Tips. Only problem is it comes in 2 different volumes for different blocks. So have to buy two books.

If you're looking for whole paper (all topics mixed together), then the one that says \"We spot the questions for you\" for GEP students.\" blue color one. It's recommended by dd's school teacher.

                        Hope it helps.
