Hi, dear junior parents, the school would give our newsletter to parents every 3 months. These are for parents, so make sure your kids don't keep them and forget about it.

They would organise some kind of event ocassionally, eg. school anniversary dinner, teacher's day dinner, talk for parents with top students, tour to somewhere ....
I actually paid about $50 last year to join and I put a few area of interest volunteering to help but did not hear from them anything too. Anyway, this year, I don't intend to join.

oh…we signed up cos we were under the impression that the PTA will regularly engage the parents so that there is good rapport between the school and the parents.
No wonder this year it was reported that very few parents of Sec 1 joined the PTA group.
On hindsight, this KS forum is a better "meeting" place to know what is going on in RV. -

My daughter still waiting for her dance trial on Fri but what we heard from other Sec 1 classes, they only asked those who are interested and with background to step forward for registration, no dance trial so far. When she go for other CCA trials, she has indicated her interest below 5 on the scale of 1 to 10. She said she wanted to put 10 for dance should they hand her the form. I told her to give it a try for others too, who knows there could be other CCAs that she's more interested other than dance. -
