I installed venetian blinds for all bedrooms but maybe I should have not done so for my kids’ room.

Venetian blinds need more care in raising and lowering (as explained by the installer) and kids often spoil them by pulling on the strings in the wrong way.

What if you have full length windows that look out to the road? Will be it too troublesome to get blinds? I always seem to find blinds very leceh and maid tends to pull very hard leading to lopsided blinds most of the times!

Hi.pinky88, that means yours sound more worthwhile than insider that was bought from Spotlight, right? do u mind giving me the contacts of the company you made from? Btw, can we use the tracks from the curtains or must mount new tracks for blinds?

              I've PM u.

Actually I am my own ID, so I share my thoughts with you.

I have a combo of both curtains and roller blinds as my windows have 3 panels. The 2 symmetrical panels on the side are roller blinds and the middle is dressed by curtains with big tussles. But I use all the same fabric to make them.

If I were to change my curtains, I may use different fabrics this time because I will turn the 2 symmetrical panels into poster-like roller blinds instead so become 2 pictures and make the window looks smaller in the centre…

I’ve used curtains for my 1st home. Love the cosy feeling especially with day and night curtains. Maintenance wise - I usually send for dry cleaning. With no kids, it was quite easy to maintain.

My 2nd home, I use venetian blinds. Love the warmth feeling as we have it all the way down to the floor. We didn’t have grill then and the kids were very young, so they didn’t have the strength to pull. It was good as we have the privacy and yet able to control the amount of lighting andd allows air ventilation

Our current home, we use roller blind. It is easy to maintain with amount of housework pilling up, we think it is the wise choice for now.

Ikea quality may be crap but the curtains are way beyond cheap. I spent 1.5K on curtains for my place. My mum spent less than $300 on curtain rods and curtain making.

According to the lady at the sewing counter, some pp don't even bother to wash their ikea curtains...they just make new ones to replace. :!:

I used Fabrik Etc at Bukit Timah Plaza . I find the workmanship good and price reasonable for the quality we get. Look for Irene.
