Forgot to mention Crown Centre next to King’s Arcade with pizza hut, Himalaya Kitchen, En Japanese, and Hanabi at King’s Arcade too. You’ve got to be a student with a big allowance to be dining at these places too often!

Most of the nosh here is very $$. Some people like the wanton noodles at 6th Avenue, but it's only so so. Oh, opposite Hwa Chong, there's Ivin's - very good and relatively cheap Nonya food.

Isn't Nanyang Girl's Opposite Hwa Chong?

Loads of food here - Coronation Plaza (My Cosy Corner for popiah, nonya and jap food with student meals at cheaper prices) and another restaurant (Prince Coffee House has pretty affordable food like hor fun, chicken pie and western food) , Coronation Arcade (Thai Noodle House has student meals too), Penang, Penang, Curry Wok and a coffee shop which sells chicken rice, noodles and economy rice. Burger Shack by Island Creamery at King's Arcade is just next door but pretty ex. Xin Wang, Starbucks and Huber's Butchery right next to Coronation Plaza. Mad Jack's for western food and a new Thai restaurant at the row of shops near the Duke's Road police station. MacDonald's , Island Creamery, La Petite Cuisine at Serene Centre, Da Paolo, Simply Bread and another pricey burger place at Cluny Court, more expensive restaurants at the row of shops between Coronation Plaza and Hwa Chong - Choupinette for French, Culina, Old Brown Shoe. OPposite Hwa Chong there're lots of restaurants at Greenwood but they're expensive except for a coffee shop that serves Malay food, wanton noodles and economy rice. Lots of coffee shops at Sixth Avenue though, just a short bus ride down. The food served at the Hwa Chong swimming pool restaurant is good and very affordable. You're spoilt for choice!

Students are adivised against going to the poolside restaurant (swimming pool).

Why is it so? Is the restaurant expensive or is the restaurant meant for teachers or visitors only?

it's pretty good but odd opening hours. Like 1 pm for the north Indian n the western food stall is closed for lunch except on weekends. The thai stall opens early but the lady there has the most sour face I've seen!

My DS had his meals there during orientation.
There are student prices, smaller portions.
He said food is better than canteen's food.
But the operators can't afford(?) to give his friends & him servettes, LOL!
They told him to bring his own next time! :siao:
