Hi,
Anyone out there to recommend any company? -
Hi sha2811, I m also looking for one. Presently there is one who came to my house to survey and quoted me $1380 for 4 camera and 1 recorder. Can use for internet viewing. The recorder is Taiwan brand. Warranty is 1 year. I m still sourcing if I could get cheaper than this.

Best is get KOREAN set. The Taiwan set is very unstable (for internet viewing).
$1380 also depends on how big memory is your recorder. If you want cheap then get smaller memory and back it up frequently or watch and delete unnecessary video frequently.
My hb sells these & my house/car has a few different types of CCTV

There was already another thread regarding this...

I just got another quote for 4 cameras and 1 recorder includes installation at $1150. Think this is the best price so far.
Mrs wong I drop you an email before but never receive your reply at all. -
Peapot, can email me again? I did not recieve?
Anyway, you can’t simply compare prices like that. There are many variables in the package that determines price and quality of the video.
1. Type of camera - they can tell you it’s infra red camera but the resolution may be so bad you can’t see clearly on the recording
2. Type of recorder - there are many different functions and country of origin. Definitely go for Korean ones if possible. The memory space in the recorder is another big factor in the price.
3. Length of cabling - some only include a short section of cabling and if you need more, they charge by per feet! Some includes all the cabling regardless of length.
There are super cheap packages but they have alot of ‘T&C’. Do check carefully and compare the specs of the equipment too. The $1150 package may not be the same specs as the $1350 package, check carefully on what they are offering you. -
Received this promo in the email.
Please note that I'm not related to the shop, except I had bought something from them before.

PLS HELP Does anyone have a recommendation for a reputable vendor that I could use to install video monitoring at my house. :?:
Although my son is full time childcare, the centre where he attends (branded btw) has 7 cases of HFMD. So it is natural that despite the loss in fees I rather have him at home with the maid than at school possibly being the next case. :x
I never had any problems with my maid and my DS who is almost 3 can verbalize himself fairly well so I thought it would be ok to leave them home together as Kong Kong can come by and check on them after 3pm and he would stay till I got home from work (DH is away on a business trip). So I was shocked that DS told me when we were getting ready for bed, that the maid has pinched his private parts. We have taught him that it was inappropriate to have anyone touch him in that area, except for mummy when she gives him a bath.
The mentioning of his private part was in context and part of a conversation we were having about him ‘shi shi” the bed during his afternoon nap. Which was part of the bigger conversation of why mummy cannot stay at home with him. So I am inclined to think that perhaps he wanted me home and he knows we place a lot of emphasis on no one touching him there and thus he would be able to keep me home with him. But I cannot take the risk of not believing him. :!: :!:
So now I am freaking out!!!! Can’t take more time off work, DH is o/seas till end of next week and Akong cannot come earlier than 3pm. I need someone to install a few cameras around the house which I can monitor from work to see whats happening whilst I am not at home. I am a complete techno idiot who barely knows how to turn on a computer so installing myself (or waiting for hubby to do it is not really an option).
Any advice ?? PLS??? -
Okosbaba,
It is best to send the maid away once you find anything suspicious. I don’t think it is necessary to go through the trouble to install a video camera, and it is expensive. When at work, are you able to watch them every second of the day ? Once you stop looking at them, even for a few mins, the maid might have done something already. Also note that it is illegal to install cameras in the toilet.
If you don’t see anything from the camera, it does not mean that your maid is treating your son well. Even if you see something, the damage is already done and it will only be heartbreaking.
It is never safe to leave a baby/toddler alone with a maid at home, the video camera does not help.
My advise is to find someone reliable to supervise the maid. If not, find a good babysitter and send the maid together with the child to the babysitter. I know this costs extra money but it is a safer option. -
