Does you children still have supplementary class in school this week? DS still needs to go back on Mon and Wed. I'm surprised school still wants supplementary class on Wed when Thur is the exam.

DS has so many papers to do that we dont really have time to \"revised\". As in, go through those papers that he did and revised to ensure he remember his mistake.

I wonder if this is the strategy for all the school in doing endless amount of papers.

Today is DS's last supplementary class. For the past 2-3 weeks he only needs to spend 1 hour to do at home everyday so I guess his school is at another extreme :scratchhead:

Your child's school is doing the right thing, they must have a relax mind at this point of time. My son still have supp. lessons today and tomorrow, still doing practice paper everyday.............the school is gone crazy................ can the government do anything about this :yikes:
guess the school is trying to help till the very last min. DD's having last supp for today... will just let her have a simple 1hr revision until Wed. aldy told DD no more revision from when paper starts.. She's the type who will have nightmare b4 paper.. 😢 so better to let her have ample of rest in case of last minute \"black out\"! :xedfingers:

About 5 weeks ago I did experiment with PLUS Whiper correction tape (the blue colour one). I put under a heavy stack of paper (in cool dark place) to check whether the tape will peel off or not. Yesterday I checked and it didn't peel off from the paper :boogie:

We used JetStream pen and the writing under the correction tape didn't re-appear too.

One thing I realized is that this correction tape is thin so I can still see the shadow of what was written under the correction tape. However, we will still use this correction tape because DS is used to it already and I didn't check other correction tape.

Disclaimer: We have no connection at all with PLUS Whiper correction tape and JetStream companies. Result may vary due to production batches and environment where the PSLE papers are stored. Use at own risks.
Thanks ngl2010 for doing this experiment as my ds is also using the Plus Whiper blue colour correction tape.

The Science HOD teacher also made the students return to school for Science supplementary lesson the next day on Saturday, making a last attempt to gear the students up for the Science paper on the following Tuesday.

Such dedicated teachers, but is it 'that' necessary especially when students are in the midst of the examination heat. At this point of time, right frame of mind and personal well-being, both physically and emotionally, are more important issues to be taken care of.

Some years ago, my dc’s form teacher told them psle questions are based on schools’ prelim papers for the same year. Schools are required to submit their prelim papers for SEAB to assess as candidates who are unfit to take the psle will have their t-score based on their school prelim exams. Thus they must be of an acceptable standard. From these prelim papers, SEAB will select some questions from various schools and pool them to be the psle questions. Hence parents were rushing to get the top school papers just in case there are difficult ones that might appear in the psle. Anyone has heard about this?

Personally, I feel the Plus Whiper brand of correction tape is one of the better qualities, and is user-friendly too. My kids have no issues using them. About the peeling off of tape from answer sheets, there should be no problem if you are using good quality tape. We still keep all the kids' test/exam papers and so far, they have no 'peeled off' answers despite having kept them stacked up for years as we insist on using quality correction tape.

So, parents need not feel paranoid about 'peeled tape' if your kids are using good quality tapes. One thing for sure, my DS who is a high user on correction tape, wasn't penalized for the wrong answers due to tape being peeled off as he went on to get 4A stars for his PSLE last year.

I thought that PSLE Papers are set a few years before the exam(according to my DC)? :scratchhead:

You can always decide that your son will not attend. The final decision is the parent's. And at this stage, the teacher is unlikely to mark the papers anyway.

John, do you use a lot of correction tape too such that you need the 28 metres one? 😉 DS uses a lot of correction tape :faint: I think he had used more correction tape that I had used in my whole life (including the liquid type that we used last time).
