Is your child in Mind Stretcher? -

Sorry, do you mean kids strong in Maths when you say 'some kids'? But average students do work on piles and piles of papers, work on certain areas and rework. They do not put in less efforts and face lesser pressure.
Yes, if we look at the brighter side......but this will definately disadvantage some kids....and they really put in lots of effort, doing papers after papers, zoom into areas/topics whereby they are not so good in and etc. just hoping to get that addtional 1-2 marks to bring up the T-score.....Jennifer:
How about we look at the issue at another angle: schools hv bn unreasonably stressing our children out by setting standards higher than MOE original intention.
Now the children are better prepared by schools, so not challenging anymore when sitting for MOE set paper. -

He is taking p5 science there this year. Took him out of Maths and English because his scores did not improve at all. But thought their notes were good.... I would like to get their p6 Maths and English notes, if any one would like to sell instead of throwing it down the chute.... -

Were u able to conclude why his results did not improve? -
Letting DS relax this evening. So now still happily chatting about computer games. He can sleep at 9.30 pm instead of 9 pm. Target to revise Science on Sat n Chinese on Sun. But Science really a lot. Not sure if he will be able to look through all the papers. Maybe only target at those incorrect answers.

The students will not be able to get back their psle paper, right? If the results are not what they expect, they will never be able to know why. When i know maths is a easy paper, i started to worry. This would mean that one mark different would cause much more in the t score.
I remember few years ago when my relative took the O level examination, she said all of the classmates said the Emaths and A Maths were very easy. After comparing the answer, they thought they would get A1. When the result was out, it os not so. Most of them got A2 and started to wondering why. -

Easy - people also complaintaz:
had evedropped an interesting conversation, a math tutor lamenting that math paper is too easy, her student w <70 marks in prelim can scored 98 in today paper. Those who are v good in math has no chance to do excellently.
MOE does not hv an easy job hor.
Difficult - people complain
Easy - people also complain
Why these people making life difficult for MOE lah
People here refer to:
(1) Math tutors who specialise in making the best Math students bestest
(2) Parents who send their kids to (1)
(3) Students of (1)
(4) Olympiad math medalists & the like
(5) Some (I say 'some' only har) top students, & their parents
:siam:(don't flame me) -
If a paper is hard the good students and the bad students will benefit. If it is easy then only the average students will benefit.
