Growth Spurt
-
How tall is your hubby?
Growth is not linear nor gradual. That is why it is call spurts. They may grow a lot in 1 year then very little after that and suddenly shoot up again.
To have an idea of how tall your son may be, look at the father’s height. In most cases, the son will be about ±10cm of the father’s height.
Even if you son does hit 190+cm I think it should be ok for his generation. It seems easier to find big shoes and longer pants than the opposite these days. Clothes and pants seem to be getting longer. Or maybe I’m shrinking. -
I am concerned about this too. DS is also 12, he is 156 cm, 44 kg. The other way round to ngl2010, I am concerned that he is too short as my DH is short. I keep asking him to jump and eat 田七
Hope he keeps growing vertically :boogie: -

In that case, most likely his maximum height would be around 190 cm because DH is tall but not very very tall. My brother is 17 cm taller than my father so I guess that would be the maximum growth

Haha. Either way, we worry.
DD (almost 12yo) is a year-end kid (right at the tail)…she’s 157/8 cm & ~58kg. So I hope she grow a little more vertically. A number of her classmates are much taller at 165-173cm. The 173cm is a gal…
DS (13yo) is 160cm & ~52kg only. Have fed him 田七 a few times since last year…seen some gradual growth ~5cm over the year, but not enough leh…
But if we refer to their health booklet, both seem to be >90th percentile. So guess we can wait & see?? -

Song22:
Except a little darkening at the moustache area, nil signs......maybe slightly oily face, hardly any pimples.

On the contrary, DD has lotsa stuff showing up.....so I'm more worried for her as I suppose her time is running short
IMO, 165-168cm would be a nice height.

Does \"change voice\" and pimples an indication on whether the height growth spurt is starting or slowing down?

I don’t think you can do much. Unless you want to drastically reduce his nutrition in the hopes you can stunt his growth, I doubt there is anything else you can do. But some kids who grow early may also stop early. My family are all early growers and stoppers (and short!) - my husband and I reached our full height around 13-14yo, and so did both our daughters (much to their dismay). My girls are only 157 and 154cm respectively! My husband is 164 and I am 155cm. My younger daughter is especially sore that she hasn’t even reached my height! The interesting thing is that my younger daughter was born bigger and was taller than her older sister at the same age all the way, then suddenly stopped growing at 13yo. I think it’s all in the genes and you really can’t do anything about it.
