      phtthp:
      When come p3 -

where school re-shuffle the 30 students into around 40+ students per class (perhaps because some new students have got transferred into rgps, from other outside primary schools as well) -
      How they re-shuffle ?
Do they look purely at end of p2 results (ignore p1 results), or examine both end of (p1 + p2) results combined ?
They reshuffle us in P3 but its not based on your P2 or P1 results. They just randomly reshuffle you with other people, no matter of your results. I have smart people and not so smart people in my P3 class. :xedfingers:

            Reach home around 7.30 pm

The traffic jam at mount Sinai during peak hour 6.30 pm, is very bad.
(Worse than hillcrest). The road is narrow. Anyway, they let the school buses depart school compound first, before let private cars come in fetch kids home.

            Timed before.
Even if self drive, need close to an hour to reach home.
Peak hour pan island expressway also bad jam.
This year (2013), when Henry park primary school still occupying mount Sinai premises, I did a test run first. See take how long reach home.

Mount Sinai is good for parents staying nearby ghim moh, holland, Dover, west coast, etc. for me to be honest, I can’t wait for 2 years (2014 and 2015) to be over.

I expect first 3 days reach home late, when school re-open.
Everybody is new to school bus route.

Yeah…I went to Mt.Sinai and I HAD A HARD TIME WALKING FROM THE BUS-STOP TO RGPS.I took at least 15 min to walk and it might be a bit scary for pupils who attend the morning session by walking because around the neighbourhood are just houses and condos. There are so many small roads and they didn’t even put signs that can guide us to RGPS.I also knew that Mt.Sinai is gonna be more jam than Hillcrest because the roads are extremely small and worse of all…HENRY PARK IS QUITE NEAR OUR SCH.It means that we’ll have double the number of school buses and thus, making it more jam.

So the kids are allocated based on their performance in p4 classes and not p3 right?

If yes, can share which are the better classes and so forth.

                    Hi Robotking

I am also staying at shelford road. Which class is your dd in? Maybe we can consider car pool in the future. We are trying out to send and pick ourselves to assess the situation before considering school bus. Stay in touch!

Kids are allocated P4 classes based on P3 end year results. But hearsay from a friend, there is some subtle 'banding' from P2 to P3. During her dd's time (her dd has since graduated), the girls seemed to be banded together according to Math results. Also, in order to take HCL in P3, the girls' P2 CL end year results must be among the top 20%.
