Unsolicited calls and SMSes - Do Not Call Registry
-
when u registered, there’d be an auto-response to tell u this will only take effect in 60 days, meaning telemarketers will still call u. Businesses need time to log in registry to check if u are in that exemption list, so it won’t stop so soon.
also, if u r in a contract with that business(es), u are not ‘immune’ to bombardment…they can still sms and call u to inform u abt their prodts & svcs/promos.
it’s good becos i need my banks/facial spas/manicurists/massage parlours/retailers to call me wrt promos. unsolicited ones can bugger off… -
For those who still have not signed up for DNC, you may sign up using the following link:
http://www.pdpc.gov.sg/individuals/do-not-call-registry-you/registering-with-the-do-not-call-registry
You can do so via Internet, or mobile. Make sure you have your phone with you since the number you register will receive a one-time password for confirmation. -
Its 3rd Jan today so is anyone still receiving unsolicited calls and sms'es? Might want to registers also if the feedback is good.

It’s too early to say. I just came back from Unity Denticare and they made me sign an opt out form for their company. At least they are nice enough to be upfront about it, instead of waiting for their customers to request for the opt-out form. I hope other companies do the same.
