For HK, please verify the original dialect (aka \"stock\") first. Not all HK pp are Cantonese. All dialects/races adopted the language and food culture, but they are not Cantonese by descent.
There're over 1 mil Chiu Chow Luon (Teochew Nang) in HK alone. You can rephrase by saying \"Chiu Chow ladies in Hong Kong are pleasant looking as well\". E.g. are Sammi Cheng, Chrissie Chau, Miriam Yeung, Ada Choi. The men are so-so lah, Li Ka Shing, Henry Tang, Albert Yeung, Chua Lam (migrated from Singapore).
In HK, there're also a considerable no. of fair & good-looking ladies of Shanghainese/Suzhou descent whose parents/grandparents fled to HK after KMT fell in 1949. They are mostly in Mandarin showbiz (under Shaw Bros) such as Liza Wang, Deborah (Nic Tse's mom), Josephine Seow, Lydia Sum (not pretty!) and in more recent yrs Zhang Min, Carina Lau, Daniel Wu. They studied in Kiangsu-Chekiang Mandarin college in HK, and spoke Mandarin to their grandparents.
We also have 1980s sex siren Cherie Chung who's a Hakka.
Jacky Cheung's grandparents are from Tianjin who spoke Mandarin to him when he was young. These are the artistes who picked up Putonghua very easily compared to their Cantonese colleagues in the media industry. -
