Its probably the way the bus operator works. Had the same jitters when no one called me. They say they will call 1 week before school starts. In one year, they called the night before school started. Maybe they cant get drivers and/or they need to leave it till everyone has registered, then the drivers can map out the route.

have to wait and see for our own now but based on my experience with the operator I will not give high hope on them.

          Hi Parents,

My daughter is in P2 CCPS this year. I received the payment card this month and was surprised that the fare has increased by 37.5% from $80 to $110. My house is 2km away from school. When I called up the bus operator who was the lady boss (Apxxx) told me rudely that the school was aware on the bus hike of 20%. When I asked for the memo, she couldn't provide me the information and dropped me a mail stating that it was the management decision to decide the bus hike. Next, she got the bus driver to convey message to me that if I am not happy with the bus hike, don't take the bus. I was actually furious with her unprofessional attitude and I wonder why CCPS has authorised such bus operator to ferry our kids. In fact, I doubt their integrity as well. Even when I told her that I may escalate to School Bus Association, she told me that it is useless to do so. What a arrogant lady! My hubby and I have discussed that we are going to terminate the school bus service by end of this month. We should not be the victims of unreasonable bus hike. I don't think school will take any action against steep bus hike otherwise the bus operator will not act so arrogant. :stompfeet:

Hi mummies (& daddies) of CCPS girls. I’d like to seek some advice from those whose children are currently in the school.

May I know if CCPS has swimming lessons for P1/2 girls? My daughter will be going to CCPS next year (barring any unforeseen balloting) and I was thinking of starting her on swimming lessons now but if the school is going to do it, I thought I might as well leave it to them next year.

                Appreciate any replies, thanks.

There is no swimming lesson for P1 girls, in CCPS school.

But many learn on their own, outside.

Some go to Geylang East swimming complex nearby weekly, to learn basic swimming strokes.
School fees reasonable, taught by coaches at Geylang swimming complex.
Around $70 per month (for 4 lessons)

There is one swimming class for beginners, on Friday 6.45 pm, at this swimming complex.
Other classes include Sat and Sun weekend.
may call up Geylang East swimming pool, to find out more detail.
may ask for a few instructors' timing : see which timing / day fit your schedule.

Noticed also that My friends' daughters grow up taller quite fast, after they learn swimming.
                  (plus they also eat well)

Swimming is a very good form of Sports & exercise.
It is good to start her early.

                    Thank you phtthp!

You are right, I should start her now since the school will not be sending them for lessons.

                    :lovesite:

I asked my ex classmates who were from ccps but nobody bothered to give me an answer. Perhaps they don't have daughters there, I don't know.

No swimming for CCPS P1 and P2. At P3, there is a once a week swimming lesson open to all. Pay to join. Learn to swim level. Nothing at P4.

My eldest joined that at P3. She still could not swim in spite of going through the whole course (shows you the standard). I coached her personally thereafter.

This year, my second just finished the course. She went in with free, breast and thread water. Was placed in the best group. Don’t think she learnt anything new.

They are both now at St. Andrews Competitive Swimming. Both are water safe now. Free, fly, breast, back, thread water. If you are keen to start your child early, suggest you try it. Serious coaches. Anyone can join. The pool is quite near CCPS area.

You will be surprised at some of the kids there. Half the size of my kids and doing 200m up and down for 2 hours flat. No joke.
