Can anyone advise me what is a kid expected to learn/know for Maths by end of N2? We are currently residing overseas and my boy does not go to school. I want to make sure he’s not lagging too far behind when he enters K1 next year. Thanks!

Hav found a website for basic maths skills - http://www.mathsisfun.com . There are thousands of variations of worksheets to be printed out. Suit for presch or kindergarden kids. FOC.

I like it, coz it save me a lot fo time to set the maths qtns for 3 of my K1 kids. I can spend more time to teach them one by one to build their gd foundation in maths. And save $ too to buy the simple maths workbooks for them... This is an alternative worksheets website besides other maths games.

Just saw this... looks great... just what I need... esp the maths trainer... hope this will help my gal... she's still very slow in addition... tryin to teach her to memorise... not count...

Monday, Tuesday.......
Wednesday, Thursday.......
Friday, Saturday and Sunday.......

Note : Wednesday is pronounced as wenzdei.
Not Wed-nes-day or When-nurse-day..
Just wenz-dei.

Word of caution : Such strategies can evoke obsessive
reactions to songs. Children may have the songs stuck
in their heads and they may sing it over and over again
like under a \"Months-of-the-year\" spell! Do not say you
were not warned!

Also, I SO agree with you that this 7 days a week song is can get SO addictive. My DS is constantly singing - this song - and he NEVER fails to correct me if I get it wrong eg: \"There are seven days, there are seven days, there are seven days of the week.....\" He'll say \"no mummi, its in the week, not of\" :roll: :lol:

hi, I just want to share with you all


I also teach my girl Maths at Home. She is now 5 ,doing 4 digit addition and subtraction Maths. She able to remember times table 1-12 . She could doing division, multiplication.

I never use a lot of resources to teach but i teach her to count 1-100 then 100-1 till she is familiar all the number in order from front to back then back to front. in this way she can easily to know before 10 is 9 and after 10 is 11.

I am using fingers count methods. if 9+1= ? . I teach her put the finger out 1 . then count from 9 + 1 finger = 10. same as subtraction. if 9-1= ?
put out finger 1 then count from 9 then count backward. 8

and I also using kumon methods. let her practise worksheet like 1+1, 1+2, 1+3.....
then 2+1 , 2+2....

that methods is work for my girl. she is very sensitive to the numbers if she could count from 1 to 100 then 100-1.
