But we don't know if this is across different JCs or just for ACJC in particular. Other JCs may be more encouraging of students taking Lit.

True. Anyone know? I know that MI has pretty low requirements!

Science students can take H2 Lit as contrasting subject , but to move to ARTs stream with 3 subject which you didn't study at O level is pretty uncommon.
For e.g Student having SS+Lit as only humanity subject at O- level would not be able to cope 3 ARTs H2 subjects like ECON, Lit, history.

Your dream isn't that far. Your son can start with joining the HP CSE class in Sec3. πŸ˜„

Any JC2 parents? Can share share your experience and feeling as a JC2 parent now. What kind of supports that you still render to your dc? What are the import dates to look up for this year till β€˜A’ level results out? (sound familiar during PSLE …).

I am a JC2 parent. DS is mostly on his own, not much support or monitoring from us. Occasionally he approaches me with a question or a clarification. That's about it. Less work for us compared to PSLE time. πŸ˜„

                    Hello JC parents πŸ˜„

Is it common for JC students to take SAT in addition to A levels? If so, would they usually take in JC1 or JC2?

                      JC2 parent here

Dd doing lit at h2 tho did not do it in sec school (ip)
DD Took the SAT last year in April as recommended by the school. Usually will do it if looking to go to the US for uni. If plan to study at local U, then save the money and time spent prepping for it. (iMO).
Dd is all on her own. Hardly any support given for studies. Just try to pick her
Home when she finishes late from JC. Work load is fairly heavy, and long days and nights are expected in the run up to A levels.
