Bus company charging $4/trip.
Currently my child on sch bus

Was not told of the bus charges, thanks for the info. :salute:
Did they mention about the payment schedule, is it together with the monthly bus fees? My girl is also on sch bus that goes by Compassvale Link.

It is so true. My wife and I work office hours but our work often extends to 7pm or later. And having kids whose bedtime is around 9pm (they become zombie around 8.30pm), that leaves us with very little time to go thru' the school work etc. But what I've learnt is that the stress level depends on our expectations on our children. Because of that, I personally believe that in order to keep things manageable, I have to :

1) Have faith in the system.
Trust that the school is taking care of the academics. Not to say that we totally wash our hands and leave everything to the teachers, but if we have faith and trust in the teachers, we can eliminate the unnecessary doubts that will contribute to the stress. Also have faith in the support system that you have. Not sure who takes care of your child after school, but for me I send them to the school's student care. So their homeworks are taken care of. I just need to check thru' what they did when we got home. I have to say sending them to the student care did take some load off the shoulders. No more rushing to sit thru' with them while they are doing their homework.

2) Monitor my kids' progress from a distance.
Thru' the homeworks and school work that requires parent's signatures, take the chance to look thru' your child's work and see how he/she is coping. This again is subjective. What is good enough for you? Is 100/100 what you want? Is 70/100 good enough for you? Personally, just trying their best is good enough for me. Hard to believe but my daughter came back with a score of 7/20 for her mother tongue last year and we had a good laugh about it because I know she didn't have a good foundation in Malay to begin with.

3) Make weekends precious.
It's tuff if you are a workaholic. Our Saturdays are burnt too sometimes. But as far as possible, I keep the kids active and happy by doing non-academic stuffs with them on weekends. They have religious classes on Saturday mornings, followed by Aikido. Sundays they usually rollerblade. They also have Chinese tuition.. but hey.. my kids take Malay as Mother Tongue.. so learning Chinese doesn't count as academic.. hehehe. This again relates to point (1) above about trust. If you trust that the school will ensure they have the academic foundation, you can then pursue what the kids like on weekends. I strongly believe the kids will be happier and have a more fulfilling life this way.

Just a few things to share. Hope it helps to open up some ideas for you.

tats strange..after you've log in, on the right column, u will see subjects like maths, chinese, malay, PE etc... you have to click to indivual subject...for example maths, it will come out sub-titles of the maths subjects where you can click on it... there are tutorials, activity.. etc...[/quote]yes yes we got it. Think I log in before they upload the activities. My DD was going thru the activities duringthe weekends and she love it!

she loves wushu ? tats great !! wan to consider change from learning akido to wushu ? heheeee.....
