Hi,Hi coldleaf
I've emailed you. Please remember that ortho-K might not improve the eyesight in every case. But for my children, all of them did not experience any increase.
How long have your children been wearing ortho-K lens? Is it clear for them?
Any problem with children wearing ...
I have been wearing it for 2 years now... find it really convenient! compared to contact lens.

Hi highchair my 4 of my kids are on them, they have been wearing ranging from about 1.5 years to 6/7 years. Yes we hAve very experiences with them too

May I know whether the cyste you're referring to is the same as styes? My girl tried ortho-k years back when it was first introduced, only ended up with blurred vision & styes. (she is prone to getting styes from young though).
Yes, my 2 of my kids have eczema and DD2 does rub her eyes even in her sleep. For the record, she has cysts in her eyes (because of rubbing) about 10 times last year. She seems to be able to cope with Ortho-K, though. Suggest you speak with the practitioner?
From your experiences, it seems so optimistic. Back then they could only correct the vision up to a certain degree, how about now? Pls enlighten.
TIA -
I don't know what the limit is, and I put my kids on ortho k pretty early to stop the myopia from worsening. It's best you check with the practitioner. Ds1's vision was the worst at about 350 degrees because we did not know about this until he was myopic for 2 years . I tried a different method for dd1 and it didn't work. The rest are only
mildly myopic that is less than 100 plus degrees. I know of parents who put the kids on the lenses at only 50 degrees to arrest the problem. Check with someone who does these lenses. They'll be able to vice you better advice.

My 2cts - have been using eye relax myself. It stops the lao hua/mypoia from worsening. Son also uses it and his mypoia has stabilised the last 2 years.

Hi Mathsmaster
How often do you use the eye relax? I have that but DD2 still get myopia. She used to use it only once a day, some days skipping. Now i make her use it twice a day. -

Hi Happybirdks,Hi Usaik
Where do you send your child for the assessment?
My child had 2 separate assesments.
(1) One by an optomerist at his optical shop with the intention to get an ortho-k lens early last year. But after the assessment, he wasn't found to be suitable. We walk away with a pair of glasses instead. His optical shop is at AMK. We have not been there ever since, so I need to find the shop name and address for you.
(2) Another one was very recently, we sent him to see an eye clinic. Upon assessment by the optomerist at the clinic and the doctor, we enrolled him for the programme. This programme does not treat myopia, it just control it- just like the ortho-k lens. I can share the clinic and the programme with you. As I am seeing others not posting the details of their practitionar directly on the forum, guess I can't too.... So will send PM to you the details then! -

I started to wear spectacles when I was in secondary 2. Slightly myopic but my eyesights steadily worsen year by year. When I was in JC 2, with the introduction of soft lens, I change from spectacle to contact lens. The degrees remain till today.
My dd started wearing glasses too. Not suitable for ortho-k lens, so might buy her contact lenses by end of this year. She's excited on wearing glasses :faint: Let the novelty sinks in first. Definitely will go for daily lenses.
