May I ask if your kid is in RV?
If so, he/she would know the details.

yah, my girl is in yr 2. No, i did not even alerted her as i was afraid words wld spread like wildfire. I do not want to let her know that this is happening to her seniors otherwise she may hv bad influence.

Definitely she is wrong on what she has done. I would say it is a foolish mistake. As a parent, I would remind my child not to do that and she has to understand she is not living in this world alone. She needs to be responsible for her action and as long as she is wearing uniform, she is not just herself any more. She represents the school, represents the whole Singapore education system. They are 17,18,19 or some even 20 at this JC level, they are in the learning to grow up stage. Personally I hope the school wonโ€™t be too harsh on her punishment, they are taking A lvl this year and it is a tough year for them. They are many many many good seniors in RV and hope this incident would not affect their happy moments in RV and learning stage.

Anyone know when will the students get back their progress report for this term? Today is the last day of the term and they have not received progress report. This shouldn't be anything to do with the hazy situation, right? ๐Ÿ™‚

My friends informed me about this A level result comparison among various JC in one of the forum thread,

                    http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum ... &start=120

                    \".... Repost: .....
At least 3 distinctions in H2 subjects:
                    - RI (67%)
                    - HCI (60%)
                    - VJC (50%)
                    - NJC (48%)
                    - DHS (46%)
                    - TJC (31%) (138 students with 3 H2 distinctions, 109 students with 4 H2 distinctions, assuming cohort size of 800))
                    - RVHS (28%)
                    - AJC (23%) (186 students with at least 3 H2 distinctions, assuming cohort size of 800)
                    ....\"

Not sure how reliable the figure is but if it is true, I think RVHS ranking drops quite a bit ever after first two batches??!! I thought that RV principal said that RVHS has done well??? during both last year and this year A level result release.

BTW, I heard this year Yr 4 all must take econs (compulsory)... Pls correct me if I am wrong. I think it could be good to introduce econs in yr 4 but compulsory is a bit too much.

                    What is happening in RVHS????

Yes, this is what I heard from dd on taking econs in Year 4.
                      There are pros and cons.
If one is not taking econs at A level, why bother to take econs at Year 4?
