I paid less than $1k.. from Basic theory to Licence.. inclusive of all costs such as booking fee, lessons, car rental, test fee etc.. plus 2 summons (these was the most expensive single lesson fee, and cost 10pts)..
All in all, < $1k SGD.

The rate that time is about $20/hr of lesson pte practical.

When was that? How many years ago?? 😉
I thot I cleared my driving rather fast & still incurred ~$1.8K

Ard 1996 I guess.. took about ~22y practical lessons at 1 hour each.. that time all test car must be manual.[/quote]Wah. Obtained mine in 1995, 1x basic test , 2x advance tests, 19 practical lessons. pass 1st time .....still $1.8k 😓 So the bukit batok driving Sch costs so much more than private lessons.....

Hi I would recommend driving school thou they are usually a bit more expensive.
I just took up refresher course from the driving school ( 4 lessons in total)
and able to pick up driving again! :xedfingers:

My friend recommended me his driving instructor when I wanted a refresher lesson 2 years ago. Only took up 2 lessons and I am back on the road. Can’t remember the charges but I remember its reasonable. Important thing is the instructor is very patient, friendly and ethical. I remember after my 2nd lessons, he told me I am doing okay, so can stop the refresher lessons. He told my friend, he feels embarrassed to continue to earn my money since I am not that bad after all.

PM me if you still want the contact.

any recommendations for good private driving instructor in the North (ie Woodlands) for refresher course, pls PM me thanks for everyone’s help (better still if I can use my own car!)

I am wondering if price is not a concern, should I go with driving schools instead? The rates (private or school) all appear the same to me, so boils down to instructor?

May I know what are the rates currently charged by driving schools or pte driving instructors. My wife's sister will be returning to Singapore soon and she will need a refresher course for her driving.
