Are you planning to put your kids in the holiday camp? I always thot Adam Khoo’s programmes are mainly focused on younger children - those in Primary School so maybe its not appropriate to post here?

Anyway, I dont believe in Adam Khoo n Mindchamps. They are just a rip-off on parents’ kiasuism. I have friends sending their kids to Mindchamps in the past n after paying so much, they feedback to me that the end results do not justify the amount of $$ they paid for such courses. And the fantastic thing is that such schools will tell you that 1 course is insufficient. You need to come back again for the next level, so it goes on n on. And who is the winner - these schools, for sure.

This is just my personal opinion only n I am sure strong believers of these schools will feel otherwise.

These folks are just good at marketing and targeting parents' psychological weakness. A good school teacher or tutor can teach your child the stuff he/she really needs to learn and motivate at the same time. Why spend the extra money?

Yes, a good teacher should be able to teach/motivate my children but the reality is that given the current teacher-student ratio, my children are not getting what they need. Hence I have to put them through enrichment programmes.

I don’t believe in the marketing & hype. I ask around & also go directly to the centre to find out myself. I’ve sent my children to Mindchamps before and I’ve seen the improvements. I feel it’s worth it.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post. I stumbled upon the website below. How helpful is this type of workshop? How much is it?

                  Sembgal,

From what i have heard from other mummies, it is more suited for upper pri levels, esp for P4 onwards. The consensus is that generally the lower pri have not reached the maturity yet. Also for P1, its a transition period, so a bit too soon to send them for such courses.

But then again, to each his own ....

                  My 2 cents 😄

I think it’s a good workshop, though I’ve never attended any AK workshops before.

I’ve sent my son b4 to a similar prog when he was in sec1.

I would say the prog benefits him. Don’t ask me exactly how… He’s now in sec4. Although I’m sure his current sch also plays an impt part in motivating its students.
