All About Home Addresses

Hi Koppie,Hi,
If it's a yet-to-shift in address, and I cannot move in soon as I've currently rented it out, than what are the documents to show?
Tks
If you are talking about changing the address on your ic even though you are not staying inside immediately, you can go to https://www.psi.gov.sg/NASApp/tmf/TMFServlet?app=CSC-NRO-OPAD to request for a pre-notification letter. This letter will be sent to your new address. With this, you can then go to police post to update your home address. -
koppie should NOT update the address on his\her NRIC as that of the rented out property as koppie is not staying there yet. It is against the law and can be charged for wrongful declaration.
-
Agreed. Update of NRIC will mean automatic update of contact address to various govt agencies - I think IRAS, CPF is included. My guess (haven't tried that out), is that the mail will go to this address.....I dunno what the tenant will think when he open the mail to see his landlord's income.

Anyway, there are penalties associated with non/wrong updating. After the ah-long incidents, I think govt is taking a fiercer stance.
The link was to update if documents are required, but may not be here (eg phone bill/bank statement not yet arrived). Govt provides a way by which pp can update their address.
My auntie, staying with her son & DIL, had to update her address when they shift house. But becos she wasn't one of the owners, there was some difficulty when they went to the police post. Quite drama lah. -
Just wondering, If i have a unit that is within 1km of a popular school in marine parade and currently it’s vacant inter terrace, 1 traffic to TNS, 2min to CHIJ Primary etc (no need to cross any roads), 1km to NAPS. Rather old unit…what is the likelihood that parents would be interested to rent?
ie. i’m asking to check if respond is good before i consider spending time and money to renovate the unit for personal stay since i’m out of the country most of the time -

MOE guideline, you must move in that rented property before the kid started P1, that is 1 Jan 20xx. Hope this helps.Hi,

Even before that, your NRIC needs to show the address of this rented property when you register, i.e. coming July. -
Hi all mummy n daddy dearest,
when we register for P1, does the school need both parents’ IC or just daddy’s IC to determine the address?
thank you for your reply -
According to MOE's list of required documents: http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/required-documents/
A: For Children who are Singapore Citizens
1.The child’s Singapore Birth Certificate.
2.The child’s Singapore Citizenship Certificate for those who are not Singapore Citizens at the time of birth.
3.Singapore NRIC of both parents or Entry / Re-entry Permits of parents if they do not possess Singapore NRIC. -

good question.
my ic add is still my mum's while my hb's is at my PIL's. We stay with my PIL. Before my DS1 turns P1 this year, all the communications with the govt with relations to my kids were sent to my mother's address. So that means, the kids will follow the mother's IC address - I think the govt will assume that way.
Last year, my DS1 registered for school. Hb registered him to his old school. He brought his and my ID for the registration. I think he used PIL's address to register. ok, went through.
I think you can call that school you are eyeing on this. I think you can use the address you have on your IC. Should not be a problem.
Good luck!
