May I know how NJC group their Sec 1 class this year? I heard said that JH101 is AEP class and JH102 is MEP class. Is this true?

102 is the mep class that i know for sure as the number of students are only 22. My dd talk about an arp girl from 108 so im not sure about aep

My post may be a bit late. My son is in JH101 and it's an AEP class. They have extra art session on Tuesday. Comes home late and seems to have lots of drawing homework but he seems to enjoy it.

Came back from the parent teacher meeting. Glad that DS came with us (he was reluctant as most of his friends were not going, but just so happened he needed to drop some work into the teacher's pigeon holes that he had to go to school today ). Happy with the teachers, they seemed to be a really dedicate bunch and know the students well, to be able to point out the strengths and weaknesses for the JH1s within such a short span of time, and using a combination of tough love (typical Asian scolding) and encouragements to the children. DS displayed good rapport with the teachers esp the personal mentor/form teacher (also the language arts teacher). Kudos to NJC and the staff. Our children are in good hands.


Would be good to hear comments from others.

Yap. I am glad that dd make a good choice to go into NJC. The teacher really point out dd strength and weaknesses. And they are really encouraging and willing to help out when I voice out my worry. Feeling great and relieve after the PTM. I also feel the teacher know their student well within such a short period.

hihi... my ds is keen to enrol into NJC, taking PSLE this year. Read that the intake for female seem higher. Anyway, would like to hear parents' views about this school, after your kids entered it. I believe this is a wonderful school, but how as to compare to the others. what is special about this school? Should I DSA for him or only apply after the results are out?

If u r looking at 'A' level performance, then NJC is definitely not the TOP school.

Nothing special abt this sch. The key qn would be: will your child be happy in this sch?

Pardon me if I did not use a right choice of words. I always thought THE TOP is the not same as being ranked 2nd, 3rd etc. To me, THE TOP means 1st position.

Personally think higher chance for boys through DSA since after PSLE they'll usually get a higher number of girls than boys (due to more limited choices for girls IP schs..but that has changed in recent years). Each child has their own likes/dislikes best to attend the open house/tours to get a feel. I think all IP schs (if that's what you DS is aiming) are great to nurture students who are self motivated to learn. NJC is probably the top mixed IP schs together with Dunman High and River Valley High.
