How much depends on whether the child is getting sufficient nutrients through other food. Some kids who are lactose intolerant don’t drink any milk at all. My kids have been taking low-fat powdered milk (various brands) since they were around 5yo, about 1-2 cups a day.

Mine stopped powdered milk before they started primary school. They’re now on hi-low milk. Max of 2 cups a day.

Fresh milk since they were about 2-3yrs old. Low fat. DD maybe about 1 glass, DS drinks milk like drinking water. I don’t really restrict them.

As long as the children ask for milk, i think we should encourage them to drink more. My children (8 & 9), still drinking milk powder like Pediasure Complete choco or S26 PE Gold. They don’t drink milk everyday but sometime i make a cup for them as breakfast before school (better than giving cakes, biscuits or other processed food right?) As I cannot control what they eat during recess, so twice a week, i pack for them packet milk and bread.

If i happen to buy HL milk and they ask for it, i’ll pour them a cup. I will prefer them to take formula milk (more DHA and calcium) esp the fats they need for their growing brain. Probably will stop formula milk and switch to Hi-Lo milk when they hit 10yr old. Btw, they are not picky eaters.

My kids are 7 yrs old this year. Milk is a good source of nutrient and most importantly good supply of calcium.

Even adults need milk for calcium to prevent brittle bones at old age, if you are not taking calcium tablets. Sorry , off topic.
My kids are drinking "Grow school" from abbott for children from 6 yrs to 12yrs.
They drink 1 cup in the morning when they wakes up for good absorption as their stomach are empty when they wakes up.
And 1 cup at nite b4 they sleep, as during sleep, it is the time that our body repairs itself and also for growth and development.

My young nephew and niece are drinking Farmhouse ‘Fresh’ Milk. The inverted commas are because the milk isn’t exactly in the Fresh category. It’s UHT packet milk. But labelled as ‘fresh’. Strange…

Nonetheless, it tastes good and is much cheaper as compared to the authentic Fresh options like Meiji and HL.

Yep! Straight from fridge too. Or maybe it has so time to warm up cos it's poured and left on table while kids wash up and change.

For mine, morning before they go to school - Full cream milk…

In the evening if they want, fresh milk or packet milk - Full cream… Many parents recommend to use full cream after they go primary.
