I am so happy today. Sonny scored 8/10 for literature class test. This is because I asked him to study from the websites tat both Buds and AB recommended. He is the second highest in class. Highest being 9/10. So happy. 🕺

glad to hear that. literature is a subject which is difficult to score.

      well done little porky boy!

Hi, does anyone know of any sites with study guide for "Totto-chan (The Little Girl at the Window)"? I tried searching but nothing useful so far…

With exam round the corner, i’m not sure if dd has time to do notes for chapter summary and analysis etc… Study guide will help speed revision a bit i’m hoping… besides just reading the book itself…
Thanks in advance for any inputs!

Wonder if anyone can tell me the difference between thou and thee in Shakespearean language ? They both mean ‘you’ but how to differentiate ?

'Thou' is subject, 'thee' is object, 'thy' is possessive.

I read the book \"Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry\".

I would prefer \"Sing to the Dawn\" (unsure if it is a literature book for sec sch) to it.
My dd likes \"Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry\".
DD enjoyed reading Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry too that she did it recently for her P6 ERP. Afew of her favs include
              The Giver
              The Good Earth
              The Diary of Anne Frank
              To kill a Mockingbird
              The Joy Luck Club

                    Fairy:

At least, Animal Farm is interesting. My daughter's school is using A Sense Of Belonging. My daughter complained that the stories are boring. I tried reading it myself and really, it's been 2 weeks already. I still can't finish reading the book. It's really un-interesting. I usually read it before I sleep at night. Most of the time, I could not bring myself to carry on and decided to sleep instead. Wonder what the rationale for the school to choose this book was.

autumnbronze, have you read the book? How do you it?

                    Hi Fairy,

I don't recall reading/teaching the book. So I can't comment on anything rite now. Am thinking of dropping by at Populars during the wkend (DS goes for Mandarin enrichment), and to have a look at the book.

Is it a collection of short stories?? R u able to post the titles? 😄

                    hi
i know I'm not supposed to be here because I'm a student
couldn't help reading the conversation when i chanced upon this website
my account expires tmr anyway but i was hoping if you wouldd appreciate a student's opinion
i currently study in acs indep and in sec 2
my school literature uses sense of belonging short story anthology
we are not going to use all stories
only 5 stories for term 3 and 4
in my opinion, some of the stories like sound of thunder and flowers for algernon are interesting
when i started reading essence of man story for my project, it felt too boring
so there are some stories which are interesting and some are not
and no i don't think they will use all the stories in the book as my school only use 5 for two terms
                    hope it helped!

                        Hi,

You can actually get various literature guides at http://readpbn.com/Literature-Study-Guides. They are a local online store and all guides are in downloadable e-book format.
