Hi, where can we buy this? And roughly how much would it cost?
In my opinion, this current metronome is the absolute best in the market.
It's BOSS DB-090 (Dr Beat),

I bought it from Swee Lee (Bras Basah Complex.)
Cost $180 + $60 for the adaptor.
There is a cheaper adaptor, but it wasn't in stock when I asked for it. -

The metronome I mentioned above does tuning using a reference tone only. It doesn't indicate the pitch.Hi waiyean

Hi Sleepy,sleepy:
Can we use apps metronome? Is it less accurate?
Which online apps would you recommend? if you're using one
Some of my daughter's teachers uses metronome apps. I have tested them with an actual metronome, and their tempos are consistent. I don't think they are less accurate. They work pretty fine when used during softer practice, sight reading, and with softer instruments like violin. However, their max volume is not loud enough at times. Also I don't want to be disturbed by phone messages and notifications during practice. -
DS wants a metronome that is those traditional pyramid shape ones!! :slapshead: ...because teacher's one looks like that!! Aiyo...
Where to find a good one with a reasonable price if we agree to buy him that type of metronome? -

I use this one and recommend this to my students. Very LOUD and durable. -
Hi fifiyeo
In my opinion tried and tested …NIKKO is good. My students use those.
Yamaha trad metronome is pretty ear piercing.
Cristofori not very good. Even their pianos ahem.
Nikko has a rounder sound compared to the rest. For trad., nikko is good.
For electronic, Metronome apps I recommended Mobile Metronome. I dont even use my trad metronome anymore, I use my metronome app on my samsung. I can interchange tones , cowbells, wood etc and adjust volume. -
Hi, we are new in Singapore. My son currently takes group class in Yamaha on Piano and he seems to be liking it. We would like to find a piano teacher to teach him individually. Any recommendation (can PM me). WE live in Jurong West.

My 5-yr-old doesn't want to learn piano anymore. She complains that the tutor scolds her every lesson. In the beginning when she was scolded, she would be very upset. Now she can't be bothered to be upset. She simply refuses to go for the lessons. If anyone has a patient and responsible piano tutor in the north, who preferably travels to her pupil's place, please pm me.
hi there, my DD is also coming to 5 and taking 1-1 piano lesson.. she loves going to piano class as her teacher makes an effort to keep the lesson interesting. We use 2 books to help her learn the techniques and her teacher uses iPad too when she teaches theory. I am not allowed into the classroom , but she takes video of my dd during lessons and lets me know how to guide her for the week. Throughout the week , we will practice together and sometimes her teacher will even ask me how is the practices at home going on. I really love this teacher and we also recently just changed teacher this year . My point is, your child should change teacher as lessons should be engaging at this age and of course no scolding should be tolerated.
