I have couple question. Please help me.

1) Vivi and Nan had some money each
On Monday, Vivi gave 5/8 of the amt of money she had to Nan
On Tuesday, Nan gave 3/8 of the amt of money she had to Vivi.
In the end, Vivi had $96 while Nan had $120. How much did Vivi have at first?

2) Jolene has a total of 2100 ducks and chicken on a farm. 3/8 of the number of ducks is equal to 1/4 of the number of chickens.
Find the difference between the number of ducks and chicken in the farm

I have this P3 maths question :

Ken and Ramesh had an equal number of sweets at first.
After Ken bought another 8 sweets and Ramesh ate 12 of his sweets, Ken had thrice as many sweets as Ramesh.
Find the number of sweets each of them had at first.

I can find the answer using algebra, but not sure how to do it using the P3 standard way of doing, maths models ?
