Welcome to Palmview clevercookie. Wow we at the 100pages mark,,,,hahaha. Yes last year balloting was done for phase 2C(S). This year we will only know after 31st July. As far as I know those who stay within 2km have a very good chance of getting in. cyranocrash you can really be the spokeperson for the school..... 😆

      Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie here. After reading all your positive comments, I would like to enrol my DS in this school. I would like to seek your opinion please. My DS is born in 2009 so P1 registration is only in 2015. I think we have missed the volunteer registration deadline but I am hoping we can appeal. I did not expect a new school would be so popular. My questions are:
If we are both SG citizens and live within 1 km, do you think we need to do parent volunteer?
Do you know if this school confirms a place for the child of a parent volunteer? I heard some schools only take in limited no. of volunteers to ensure the placement is confirmed for the children of volunteers.
      Thanks in advance

      Hi Clevercookie,

Congratulations on making the right choice to enrol your child in Palm View. Let me be the first person to welcome you to the school.. hehehe.

I got to know at the open house that the PV registration has closed. I was shocked to hear this as well. But after reading the MOE website carefully, apparently for a child to go under phase 2B, the parent need to register as a volunteer before 1 July of the preceding year. However, I have discussed this with the VP during the open house and she will see if anything can be done as this is the first year Palm View is accepting PVs. Will update this thread if there's any news. In the meantime, do check with the school regularly to see if there are any updates.

As for your questions about the need to be a PV if you are within 1km, it is really difficult to say. As a gauge, last year, if I'm not mistaken, under phase 2C(S), there's balloting. And this year, the school seems to have gained popularity. So possibly we will see balloting again. And not forgetting, there are new housing developments coming up around the school. So there's possibly more kids who may join the school the next few years.

Similarly, as this year is the first time the school is introducing the PV scheme (for those registering in 2016 onwards), we will not know if all PVs have a confirmed place in the school.

All the best in your pursuit for the best school for your child! 🙂

Comparing last year and this year's performance, can really see the kids have matured and they have better stage awareness too!

              HOT OFF THE PRESS!!!!!

Parents whose kids are going P1 in 2016 (meaning you will register in 2015) and you wish to sign up as a PV in Palm View, the school has re-opened the registration and will accept submission until the end of this week. Pls call the school if you need further clarification.

Pls note that this is only for those whose kids are joining P1 in 2016 (meaning they are in K1 this year). Those whose kids are joining 2017 onwards, the registration is not open yet.

              All the best parents!

                Dear All,

Finally solved the logging in issues (forget password since a long time since log in)

Really great to see more parents are making Palm View as their first choice for their children’s P1 registration.

                  Hi to all…

Mummy of a 2009 boy reporting to this thread. Has been a silent reader all these while since last year. Went for the open house last week too and set my heart to register my boy in this sch for his P1 in 2016.

Thanks to cyranocrash for the great new…I have submitted my PV form on Monday and was told that the appeal will be subject to board of committee for review. Crossing my finger now. Am i right to say that now, though its open for registration, its still up for review?

Your application should be confirmed. But don't take my word for it.. do call the school to check your status.

REQUEST FOR PEDESTRIAN WAY FROM BUANGKOK MRT TO TO PALMVIEW PRIMARY SCHOOL

We refer to your email dated 7 Jul 2014 which was addressed to Mr Gan Thiam Poh, MP for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC with regards to your request for a pedestrian way on the vacant land from Buangkok MRT to Palm View Primary School.

2 We wish to share that the vacant land is scheduled for housing development in the near future. Hence, it is not feasible to construct a footpath on this vacant land.

3 However, we wish to take this opportunity to inform you that HDB is currently constructing a covered linkway, linking from Blk 282B Sengkang East Avenue to the side gate of Palm View Primary School. This linkway will likely be completed in September 2014. By then, parents and students can consider to make use of this covered linkway through Sengkang East Ave/Sengkang East Road/Sengkang Central.

4 Should you require any further clarification, you may contact our Senior Estate Executive, Mr Danny Chew at Tel No 65774253.

                      Thank you.

                      Yours sincerely,
