Looking at the balloting situation. Even CHIJ Toa Payoh have to ballot at 1-2km. Whereas in the past it was only more than 2km then need to ballot...looks like some parents took a chance this year after the new rule (20 places in 2B & 2C each) kicked in.

My best wishes and a very good luck to those balloting this Friday. I really hope you can get into the school of choice for your little ones... :salute:

Wish you all the best. My kid got in at 1-2km in 2010. I'm actually quite surprised, because this hasn't happened in years for IJ TPY (only for more than 2km is a given to ballot). My only guess is it's because of the new rules or because of all the condos sprouting out in TPY and nearby Balestier/Thomson...Good luck :xedfingers:

Moe shd consider priority for those estates have less choices of primary sch or only one pri sch within 1km or between 1km n 2km. For my estate, only 1 pri sch within 1km n the rest are out of 2km. Haix

If you look at the overall picture, this year's Phase 2B has really not been very competitive, primarily as a result of the 20 extra places reserved from Phase 2A. Many of those going for balloting have better than 50% chance of winning a seat in any of those schools requiring balloting.

I think things will change next year, as we start seeing more parents applying at Phase 2A(1) , and as we approach the Year of the Dragon babies. That's when competition will heat up to a fever pitch.

Isnt that the reason why some estate are being more sort after than others and why family with kids usually prefer to live near schools.

actually, why dun MOE segregate priorities base on religion?

In this system, we have Christians ended up in Buddhist schools and we have Buddhists enrolling into Christian school. I heard Buddhist’s kids were told to bow their head during pray.

Won’t it be good if Buddhists go to Buddhist schools and Christians go to Christian schools? Free thinkers will have less competition in government schools??

                      Hi all

I am having a dilemma. super stress lately with all these registration. I will be in the race in P2C.

My 1st choice is Rosyth ( within 1 km), but the chances are likely to be 3 kids to 1 vacancy.

My 2nd choice is either XinMin ( within 1 KM) likely to ballot( maybe 70 - 80% of chance in getting a seat) or CHIJ OLN ( within 1 to 2km), likely to ballot also ( prob also 70-80% chance in getting a seat) ( Am I right in my calculated risk?? haha)

I prefer CHIJ OLN, but I have a DD and a DS( who is born on dragon year) I am worried for my DS’s registration in 2018. ( surge in dragon babies)

                      What should I do?

                      STREEESSSSSS
