School bus fare

Hi there. I enrolled my daughter in Edgefield primary at punggol and currently im staying in ang mo kio. I will be shifting to punggol mid of this month. I was charge $280 for 2 way trip. Do u all think its overprice?
-
Iβm laying $100 for 1 way. And this is a 35% increase compared to last year. I was horrified when I found out at beginning of year. But no adverse reaction from other parents cos I posted question in school thread. So guess only I feel increase is excessive.

:yikes:
Unbelievable! That is day light robbery! Not to mention about June and December also have to pay even when there is no service.
If I were you, I would contact school bus association Singapore to ask for advice. -

OMG! SO EXPENSIVE! -
Am paying $120 one way and my kid takes the school bus about 1-2 times a week. Rest of the days pay extra cos staying back for CCA or enrichment. Not an option for me cos my place not well-serviced by public transport.
Mine is also an increase in excess of 20% from last year. -
I m paying for AMK to Bishan for $129 (even only 6 bus stop away)β¦

My DS's school bus fee increase by about 15% this year.
I think the school bus system should be re-examined as a whole, maybe jointly by MOE and MOT. Should take a look at the routes, recommended pricing per km, pricing structure and examine whether parents can use financial schemes like Edusave/CDA to pay for the bus fees to pay for the ever-increasing school bus fares.
Not only will this help us to reduce the financial load, if more children take school bus, the traffic situation at schools will also improve. -

really expensive. But then, most of the students from Edgefield are probably staying in punggol and sengkang so AMk considered very out of the way for them. Luckily, you are shifting in soon so only half a month to go.. hang in there!Eziera:

MOE will say we shouldnt complain as they always encourage parents to choose schools within 1km. :evil:My DS's school bus fee increase by about 15% this year.

Within 1 km still need transport mah..anyway, I just hope that some government agency will look into this, because it's seems to be in no man's land now. Every time School Bus Association say increase fare, nobody challenge, we can only whine
