      Babynashi,

For the past 10 years, 2c ballot at Rosyth is all within 1km. I have emailed and checked with them.

Yes I'm aware also, but was thinking of assessing the probability to see if I want to take the pressure of balloting.

      Haizzzz....

Hi, my girl is very happy in Marymount Convent School. We brought her to MCS to register on last day of Phase 2C last year. She saw the school and like it. We were lucky to be able to enrol in MCS even though we are more than 2km. My girl likes all girls school environment. There are 2 very good schools within 1km from my place ( require balloting within 1km for SC) but I chose to give that up and register my child in Phase 2C last year in MCS as I know I will confirm get a place in Phase 2C even though I’m more than 2km away. In fact, it is so many km away.

Other parents prefer to send to Pei Chun, CHIJ TPY, Ai Tong, St Nicholas Girls, SCGS, RGS, Nanyang, MGS and most use Marymount as back up for Phase 2Cs. Marymount location not so accessible. Some drive their children to school or let children take school bus.

I know of friends with child in school and they told me all the good things of MCS. So I made the decision to register my child in Phase 2C as I know many parents are using MCS as back up for Phase 2Cs. In fact, I have to thank other parents last year for not considering MCS first choice in Phase 2C. I was able to get that opportunity to enrol my child and let my child benefit all the good stuff the school has to offer.

In fact, I have received several pm of parents asking me about MCS as they have intentions to put their girls in MCS. I will say if you were smart like me, enrol your child in MCS.

A bright child go any school is also bright, not necessary to go very famous school to become bright or brighter. Just visit the school website to check the column under Parents. There is so much to see in there. Good luck to all parents.

also many dont like marymout because it has no affiliation. ..

It doesn't bother me about affiliation because I know where is my child's standard. I trust my child's capabilities to work hard and go to a sec school she likes in future. A child has the choice to decide where she wants to study.

Affiliation is for parents who worry their children cannot make up the marks to go to a good sec in future.

MCS also can produce students who go to other top secondary schools.

Noticed that this year : many parents went through the affiliation route.

            Fairfield Methodist is so popular

If I not wrong, many years ago, Marymount had an affliated Secondary school. The girls studied there : from P1 all the way until Secondary 4.
But later, they scrapped the Secondary section.
            Pls correct me, if wrong.

Hi phtthp: yes Marymount has affiliated secondary school last time..but now no more.

Last year my husband wanted to try RGS on last day of phase 2C, he said got chance. I told him, I monitor Kiasuparents statistic, RGS cannot be so easy for parents more than 2km to enrol in. True enough, he listened to me and that was good thing. Can you imagine go try at RGS for more than 2km and not to get a chance to ballot. Really waste phase 2C chance and poor parents have to live in 2 weeks misery not knowing which primary school the child can go to in phase 2Cs.

RGS is good school but if I live within 1km, I will go for it. But in my case, I'm more than 2km from any girls' school in Singapore, so the safest bet to place was MCS.

Yes, last year : SC > 2 km reeled from shock, who missed the chance for enrolling their dd into a phase 2C school.

They got rejected last minute, due to suddenly many turned up within 1 to 2 km.

Thank God you managed to run & escape in time fast, at least still able to clinche a Phase 2C school.
If end up in p2C Supp, is very stressful, because is so close to Phase 3, where foreigners pour in, once the flood gate is open.

Anyway, a lot of parents don’t like Rgps : because they say no affliation.
Many of my friends say better to go to those schools that got affiliation : like MGS, PLMGS, Fairfield, SCGS, CHIJ Toa Payoh, St. Nicholas.
But I have no connection to any of these affliated schools, so is very difficult.

                I agree with you.
If a child is bright, she will shine, wherever she goes.

                Example
Casuarina primary is a low profile humble, neighborhood school, in Pasir Ris.
                This school is quite good.
There are some very bright kids inside, doing very well.

                  True.

Like CHIJ Toa Payoh primary -
There are Some girls inside there take it for granted, \"Oh ! Well ! Our Secondary school is just next door only what. Just walk across will do lah ! \"
                  these girls lazy to study.
In the end after Psle, they did badly, cant go back IJ, end up in some other Sec schools.

However, there is also another group of hardworking girls inside here.
They studied hard, played hard, went to Top secondary schools.

Now, CHIJ Toa Payoh primary raised their affliated Sec school entrance bar.
