anyone knows what they look out for in river valley pri during the selection for parent volunteers?
Hi Msrajey,
Hmm I think it is at the sole discretion of the principal to sieve out the applicants. Basically, we were given a form during registration as PV on the areas that we would like to contribute.. The numbers of PV that the school opens for registration has been dropping... Was 60 during my time then dropped to 30 last year. Seems like the number further dwindled into half this year, judging by Phase 2B's actual no. of applicants?
Less PV = more vacancies for Phase 2C... When is your child due for P1 registration?
Btw, RVPS will be running as a single session from 2015.. P1 has always been in the afternoon session up to this year's cohort
Whichever school u are trying for, all the best to u! :celebrate:
I'm due for registration in 3 yrs time but I'm due to apply for PV next yr. cos if I can't get in, I have to see other options available cos the other sch within 1km to me is also crazy. and I'm 1-2km to rvps so not sure if I can risk it at phase 2c. -

I’m looking at rvps but now it seems they don’t take in many PV so was wondering would their selection criteria be by distance as well??
which means I’ve lesser chance as I’m 1-2km compared to being within 1km to that school… That sch can only take the heat away in phase 2c as that sch has not started PV but in phase 2c I rather risk in that sch cos I’m within 1km than risk at rvps. -

PV is hard to determine, just apply. School that I expect to get, they rejected me. School that I don't expect to get in, I got in.I'm looking at rvps but now it seems they don't take in many PV so was wondering would their selection criteria be by distance as well??

\"That school\" :rotflmao: yup \"that school\" is formidable indeed... Heard by 11:45am that it is already oversubscribed during the first round of registration in the morning!
Btw, how come this thread is so quiet this year about the number of vacancies for ACSJ, RVPS, SMPS etc? -

If this new school is indeed so formidable, then make sure the first pioneering batch of PSLE students Churn out good resultskaisuDad:

I totally agree on this! no matter how hyped up.. I still have my doubts too.. we won't have psle results till 6yrs later to guarantee this hype.. and we don't know if this sch will offer higher mother tongue and which ccas..and we don't even know if the kids are happy cos they are just pri one going through a major transition from k2 to P1 with graded exams over the past 7 months
