Yeah, her DS and I are in the same class, though I don't know who breezy's DS is, I know from earlier posts that her DS and I are in the same class.harini:
Yes. Thank God. But, these are still recorded in the handbook that the teachers keep, so I'm still studying for them.My DS is also studying for the tests - Life science and MT next week. The only solace is that these are not counted.

Thanks breezy. Is there any way to prepare for HAST? Did they reveal your child 's HAST score. What are their cut-off of the HAST score ?[
hi apron mama,
just to share our experience in DSA with ACSI. my DS was not fr ACSP/J, just a neighbourhood school in the mainstream. The application was based on academics with his NSW, Maths Olympiad results and also achievments in the school choir/leadership roles. He was only required to take the HAST and write a one page personal statement on top of the application form.
The ACSI's principal did mention that the process is purposefully simplified and not be one with too much hassle cos their aim is not to stress the applicants and let them concentrate on their PSLE preparation, which i was thankful for. Thus, this was the only school my DS dsa-ed for.
Well, like jennifer did put, there is indeed a handuful of mainstream, non affiliated school students given confirmed offers.
my son is now happy being a part of the school (n muffin's classmate
), even tho the ACSP/J students takes up half of his class, there is really no difference to him n he doesnt feel \"overpowered\" by them.
hope this helps to debunk some \"myths\" over DSA in ACSI.
gd luck to ur DS! :celebrate: -
ApronMama:
u r most welcome, apronmama. during the DSA briefing at ACSI, we were given a set of handouts with sch info, HAST exam examples, QnA on the DSA process.
Thanks breezy. Is there any way to prepare for HAST? Did they reveal your child 's HAST score. What are their cut-off of the HAST score ?
besides looking thru the examples in the handouts, my son didnt do anything to prepare for the HAST. There is, however, a website with past exam questions (posted by fellow KS parents forummers- sry i m not sure which thread tho, possibly the one on DSA).
The HAST score for ACSI was not revealed.
hope this helps.

Just a precaution - lesson learnt from last year. My DD was admitted to a Secondary school via DSA but actual result is very good. Very stressful to appeal and wait. The feeling is really scary and wont want to go thru it again.
So think carefully before you DSA your child.
Good luck… -
mummyjoyce:
Agree. My daughter's psle result was better than the cut-off of the dsa school she was admitted to. In any case, we did not appeal . She is doing fine in her present school and enjoying school life - not missing out on anything... :lol:Just a precaution - lesson learnt from last year. So must think carefully and be sure of the choice. -
um.
How do girls get into ACS (I) in year 5 and 6?
And how much are they required to get to go in?
Do they have a String Orchestra?
My daughter is grade 7 in violin now and she is going to take her grade 8 next year.
She is only sec 1 now.
She also plays piano and is grade 2 and she is going for the grade 3 exam in july.
Her cca in primary school was guitar and she went for the SYF competion and got gold.
She is currently taking MEP.
Do you think she can DSA?
and if she DSAs ,
is there still a maximum requirement of marks to get in or it is once accepted, then confirmed get in?
answers are much sppreciated
