Any ACS(I)ians here? I need some guidance on commuting from Balmoral area to Dover. No direct bus services are available. Any carpools going there prior or anyone interested to start one. TIA.

My daughter was accepted into Crescent Girls School and since we stay quite a distance (CCK), I enrolled her into the school bus service during the registration day at Crescent Girls.:D

The bus comes at 05:50 am each morning and I initially thought that it was to cater for picking up the other students. Imagine my chagrin when my daughter told me that the bus deposits her at school by 0630 and she spend the 1st 15 minutes of the day in the canteen as the classrooms are not even opened 😞

Spoke to the bus operator and he tells me that its \"OK\" because many parents have their children in school by 06:30 am. Later he told me that he can not change the timing because he has another trip to make. :stupid:

So, any one knows of any bus operator going to Crescent Girls School that is willing to take on another passenger?

Hi runnyonempty, sometimes I saw Crescent’s girls from CCK station 🙂

You can consider to train her to take MRT to school since she is already in Sec school and moreover she don’t have to wake up so early. If you’re worry, go with her for a few weeks and once she is confident, she can manage her own.

I was looking at the bus guide book, states that estimated time from CCK mrt to Queenstown mrt is 24 mins. Then change to bus 111 (about 4 stops). Shorter travelling time and cheaper than sch bus too. 😄

Thanks for your posts. I'm still marginally (its waning by the day  ) inclined to get her a school bus. This is because, on a quirk, I had allowed her to try going to school via the MRT with her friends (twice) and of these 2 times, there was once when she could not get onto the train at Jurong East due to the early morning crowd.

Haiz. I suppose I have to let go one day, but there's never a manual on such important things

Meanwhile, I suppose I better check if there is any way to get my deposit back should we decide to withdraw from the bus service. :?

JE is always crowded so your DD has to be thick skin and try to squeeze through together with the working and students crowd 😉 But even if she miss the 1st train, the next one usually arrive within 3-5mins.

During my time…school girls always fall into the victim of molesters in public transport which are crowded and will keep quiet about it due to fear, lack of awareness and…

Sorry this may be a bit off topic…but if you are training your girls on public transport…please train them to be alert of molesters as well.

I got sick twice because of the school bus! The boys wouldn’t cover their mouths and, so, I got a cough and fever in a few days. Now, though, I’m fine.

Yes agree, but sometimes in the morning, still in sleeping mode, our girls still not so awake. 😄

It would be great if we can follow Japan, reserve one MRT cabin for the ladies. 😄
