If there is no progress report, how do we know the performance so far ? Furthermore, there is no memo to the parents about this change ?

hi andante, for all the tests your child took, should get back their marks by now.

If there is no change as regards to the meet teachers session, very soon, there should be one. I remember somewhere in March or April. I guess we have to be patience since there are so many changes this year. I have not received any memo too on all these changes. All these are feedback from our children.

I think there will be positive change in RV. RV’s students discipline has probably slackened compared to the past and I hope the new principal will reverse it back with the help of parents. The principal is very wise that he is going to get more parents involvement.

Yes, I agree about the discipline point. As you know, the juniors look up their seniors for almost everything. I always believe, schools and parents should work hand in hand and closely for study, morale and discipline issues. We cannot push the responsibility to the schools but on the other hand, we know our kids spend the most time in schools and schools are definately a place that would affect them a lot.

Compare to DHS and Maria Stella High, it seems the parents are more well informed about the school happenings. I really hope RV can improve in this area. 😄

kids are kids..no matter how well they have done in PSLE, they are still kids. Not all will be mature enough even though they can be very intelligent. That is what schools are for...to lay a proper foundation-by foundation, I don't just mean the knowledge, but a positive learning attitude and a general positive attitude towards life. And thsi attitude thing is very crucial in deciding how far the child will go, not just in the shorter term A level result but the entire life.

                I don't think so.

heard that it can be done. students have to apply directly to the school and join rv in yr 5.

Even it can be done, should not be in year 5 because its too late to be involved with their IP programes. I know one can use year 2 results to get into other IP JCs but not sure about RV.

Should be somewhere in May, but exact date, don't know yet. Someone would post it here once we know the exact date. 😄

Hi! Everybody . I just joined this forum today. My child is in RV Year 4 less than 2 years she will be stting for A levels...

I am a Kiasu parents...always thinking ahead for my child education...

I am just wondering it is too early for my child to take A Level tuition now??? But less than half Year my child will be in Year 5...

The cost of my child current tuition is almost 1.5k each month...
But at least she is getting A grades...

This is to ensure that she gets into the local U to the right faculty...

                        So worry!!! :frustrated:
